Lisa Hype

Lisa Hype has taken swipes at several artistes, mostly women, in her latest song Sting Aftermath.

At Sting, during the wee hours of Sunday morning, Lisa Hype got her share of boos and forwards. But it seems she is overly pleased with her efforts and is hurling insults at other artistes in her latest song.

In the song, she says: "A wah happen to dem gal ya? Dem neva know seh Lisa Hype deh pon fire? Di whole a dem career mi a wire/ One tune mi fire six gal get graze/ Spice get coward when mi tear down the place/ Di same suit she inna Friday, gal neva bathe/ Ikaya, mi shouldn't even call your name/ yuh nuh ready fi di ting, your career is lame/ Ishawna di war just buss inna mi vein/ Foota nah have no hype him caan give yuh no fame."

She continues by lashing at other females, Stacious, Baby Tash, Tifa and Timberlee, before also commenting on Twin of Twins.

She continues in the song to say that anywhere she sees these artistes "she is ready".

publicity stunt

But Ishawna is not 'ready' for any clash with Lisa Hype. "I don't know why I was brought into this in the first place. I am a singer not a clash artiste. I know she doing it for a publicity stunt. I don't know her personally so I don't care," she said, while noting that she is focusing on her career and wishes Lisa Hype well.

Spice, who heard the song late yesterday, said she simply laughed when she did.

"She is in no category to utter those words. Anybody weh write dat song fi har a put her inna fire. Nuffy a set her up and siddung and a laugh," Spice told THE STAR.

"How yuh fi waan challenge Spice weh challenge di king a dancehall? Lisa Hype not even bad like mi likkle toenail. Mi sorry fi har."

She also lamented that Lisa Hype is in denial, because she cannot claim to be the best artiste on the show after receiving one 'forward' on Sting on Saturday.

She also said that she is still not certain whether or not she will respond to the song.

"Mi fans dem seh mi nuffi stoop to her level but when mi wake up inna di morning, depending on mi mood, mi might write something," Spice said.

Spice was also at the venue but did not get a chance to perform. This she blames on MC Nuffy. "Nuffy hear seh him fi call up Spice but him call up General B," she said.

Producer Scott Storch is expected to be a major player in the musical comeback of rapper Shyne, who was deported to his native Belize after over nine years of incarceration.

Storch said of his plans to craft a new album for the former Bad Boy.

"Yeah, Shyne's my man. I've been talking to him and I was talking to him all through his prison sentence. He's always remained a loyal person to me," he told AllHipHop.com.

He said that he and Shyne actually befriended each other while Shyne was in jail for a December 1999 shooting that left several people wounded.

"We became friends after he was already in [jail] and I found out he was a fan and he's just a hell of a cool guy," Storch continued. "I'm looking forward to doing, not just one record, but doing a chunk on his album."

DJ Khaled's new album, Victory, features a new song by Shyne, Akon, Mavado called "All My Life." That opus is slated for a 2010 release. Presently, artists and producers are being flown in to Belize to work with Shyne.

To read more on Scott Storch and his current work, including more details on Shyne's album, read the two-part feature on Tuesday December 29 and Wednesday December 30. Storch also discusses his recovery from a cocaine addiction, his relationship to Timbaland, Lil Kim and his plans for a strong comeback, among other matters.

Kanye West and his girlfriend associate Amber Rose recently got into the holiday spirit by serving lunch to the homeless. The hit producer slash rapper went to the Los Angeles Mission to give back. "It's just important [to give back] when you're very blessed," West said. Ready to work, Kanye went straight to the kitchen, put on an apron and started serving.

"[It's nice] to spread your blessings and take time out, especially during the holidays to appreciate people who never get that appreciation. It makes me feel really good to come out here, [with] my family, and I just thank ya'll [the Los Angeles Mission] for allowing us to be apart of this,

SYDNEY (Reuters) An Australian man has embraced the spirit of the season, taking on the role of a real-life Santa and giving away his possessions as gifts for the second Christmas in a row.

Last Christmas, Dennis Stevenson opened his home and gave away all his belongings. This year, he opened a makeshift shop in the Gold Coast in Queensland to again distribute seasonal cheer and invited others to donate as well.

"It's a lovely thing to do to continue the spirit of Christmas" Stevenson told Reuters on Thursday.

Lil Wayne returned to his hometown of New Orleans for one last show on Monday (December 28) before going to jail. After opening the concert with Grammy-winning single A Milli off of The Carter 3, Wayne told the excited crowd, "I'm nothing without you."

Monday's stop was a part of Young Money's promotional tour for their compilation, We Are Young Money, which was released on December 21. The tour kicked off on December 17 and was temporarily halted after Wayne and 11 other members in his entourage were detained by U.S. Border Patrol agents in Texas. Officials found marijuana on the bus, but not on anyone's person, and thus let Wayne go unscathed, and gave some of his entourage nothing more than a couple of citations.

The charges that will send him to jail in February stem from a 2007 arrest in New York, where Wayne was found in possession of a loaded .40-caliber handgun. On October 22 of this year he pleaded guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon and is expected to receive a one year jail sentence.

According to the Associated Press, Wayne will also report to court in March to address the felony drug possession and weapon charges levied against him in Yuma County, Arizona.
Details are extremely sketchy at this point, but an EXTREMELY reliable source confirmed with me that a secret secret hush hush* meeting occurred with several major big wigs from both parties (Oh hai Lyor Cohen & Brian Williams).

While nothings been solidified in regards to logistics to this ground breaking venture, possibilities of future collaborations and ish of that nature are hatching as we speak. A merger of the sort could combine the forces of every conglomerate under the respective umbrellas of WMG and Cash Money Records.

This includes Atlantic Records Group (Lupes 1st & 15th Entertainment, T.I.s Grand Hustle Records, Mainos Hustle Hard imprint) Warner Brothers Records Inc (Asylum Records- Gucci Mane lives here, Warner Bros. Records, Blacksmith Records) and a bevy of other imprints.
Snoop Dogg recently talked about the huge success that UK reality television star Susan Boyle is having in the music business. The rap veteran shared his thoughts on her multi-platinum record sales and how he thinks she is giving people something new and fresh. "That state of the industry, there's so many different artists, so you have a lot to choose from," Snoop explained in an interview. "When I came, there wasn't nobody coming like me. The way she did her thing, ain't nobody doing it like her. You gotta be different and diversify who you are and at the right time. Timing has to be impeccable, sometimes you don't have no control over that. I look at a lot of great artists, some of 'em didn't have a great first album but they doing good right now."
Nelly is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the man who broke into his suburban St. Louis home earlier this month.

As reported earlier, a man forced his way through a locked window at Nellys home in the early hours of December 11 and got away with a duffel bag full of items that included electronics and other goods.

Nelly was not home at the time. Police say one of three occupants saw and confronted the intruder, a male in his 20s or 30s. No one was injured.

Vybz Kartel a.k.a Addi the Teacha wowed a record-sized audience during Pepsi Teensplash at James Bond Beach on Boxing Day December 26, 2009 with an entertaining set full of current hits.

It was a performance that all at once underlined his dominance as Jamaica's top dancehall act, showcased the squadron of young acts in his Portmore Empire act and hinted at even greater promise at his future development as a major dancehall star.
He hit the stage to a huge roar as he sang Million by a Morning before seguing into Dollas. He even exhibited some stagemanship a la Beenie Man directing the Ruff Kut band with flourishes of his hand as the song came to an end.
The girls almost lost their mind when he did Love Dem, then he sat down on a speaker box and shaking his head ruefully said 'every time yu come inna public with the same almshouse'. On walked Sheba, doing the intro to Mi ah Go Do Yu Back, and the forward was deafening. They worked well together, however Sheba needs to project her voice more deliver the song with more energy. After she exited, Kartel segued neatly into his next song, explaining that even though she was upset, She Nah Let Go, and the crowd loved it.

He closed his set with Bicycle, Life We Living and Slo Motion while Beenie Man waited in the wings. Rumours are circulating within the industry that Ruff Kut and Beenie Man have permanently parted ways, but that was not obvious as they worked well together. Beenie Man won over the crowd with his Gaza Mi Seh antics and his new hit, Eva Clean.

Earlier, Mavado worked a tight set and even bigged up Adidja Palmer before doing his number one hit, Hope and Pray. He got big forwards for his Christmas song, New Llama and Never Believe Yu.

vegas+42.jpg
Mr. Vegas showed his great experience as a performer and immediately connected with the young crowd with his current hit, Man a Gallis. A consummate professional, he worked the huge teenage audience well, energising them by asking them to move like they were young people. The crowd responded well, and he had them in a towel-waving frenzy for about five minutes as he did Up Deh, and then injected a note of gospel in the venue as he did a medley of songs that included Saints Go Marching In, before closing strongly with I Am Blessed, his huge number one. It was one of his best local performances for 2009, and he had the predominantly teenage audience jumping and rocking throughout showing why he has been able to stay at the top of his game after 12 years in dancehall.

Lady Saw got one of the biggest forwards of the night as she deejayed a R rated song which appeared to make reference to Vybz Kartel and a leaked x-rated photo that hit the Internet several weeks ago. She personally edited the song so as not to corrupt the minds of the young teens but the x-rated element was not lost. The punchline of the song was that 'mi love go school but mi nah study because The Teacha ah teach the student fi suck buddy'. The audience roared when she first did the song, forcing her to do the song again to an even bigger ovation. She closed strongly with a medley of hits such as It's Raining, Eh Em, and If the Man Lef, hiking up her skirt tantalizingly, a real treat for the young men in the VIP section of the crowd.

Earlier, G Whizz had impressed but perhaps overstayed his welcome a bit with five songs. Jahvinci worked well, doing a quick set full of his hits, and saving 'Watch Yu Friends' for last. Blak Ryno needs to work on his stage craft a bit more particularly his dressing; however, he still connected with the crowd who loved Bike Back.

Black Queen surprised quite a few people with her set, walking on with You Say and then doing Dream Lover. She got a nice forward when she sang 'Kartel was mi one and only but him lef because mi never freaky'.

baby+tash+shoot+(141).JPG
Baby Tash was simply electric during her performance, and she radiated sex appeal with her curvaceous body and her delightful dance moves. She earned an immediate roar with her popular song, Mix Up, before doing the socially conscious Nah Bleach. However, it was her monster radio hit Facebook song that had the audience singing along and watching her every move, and she closed by doing a new song, Fair Share acappella

Stacious, dressed in a sexy red outfit, thrilled with her hits, Falling Down, and Goodas Clap. She introduced her songs well with good banter in between songs and had the audience singing along to It's Over and laughing during Eenie-Meenie-Minie-Mo. However, the audience seemed really titillated by her controversial song, Head, which takes a swipe at Lisa Hype's controversial photo, and were a bit disappointed that she did not go into it more.
Timmi Burrell only got a chance to do one song when emcee Reggae Rogers walked out on him. I Octane showed why many regard him as the next true voice of reggae with a great performance. Ras Goudie impressed and sounded a warning that he will be coming to take his place in 2010. The Free People team which managed the event must be credited with doing a good job with swift band changes and a line-up that built the excitement up to a satisfying climax with Beenie Man.

American Airlines Flight 331 Overshot The Runway At Norman Manley International Airport In Kingston, Jamaica

Updates related to the American Airlines plane with more than 150 people on board overshot the runway Tuesday night while landing in heavy rain in Kingston, Jamaica, injuring more than 40 people.

Three Canadians were on the plane. The Canadian High Commission in Kingston is trying to get in touch with those passengers to determine their condition.

Flight 331 took off from Miami International Airport at 8:52 p.m. ET and arrived at Kingstons Norman Manley International Airport at 10:22 p.m. ET. The flight originated at Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C. It was carrying 148 passengers and six crew members.

The plane reportedly skidded across a road at Norman Manley International Airport while landing during a heavy rainstorm, and halted at the edge of the Caribbean Sea, apparently prevented from going into the water only by the upward slope of the sand. The nose of the jet was less than three metres from the water.

Jamaican Information Minister Daryl Vaz said the airplane is broken in two and that 44 people were taken to Kingston Public Hospital. He said some others were taken elsewhere or treated at the airport.

At least four people were seriously injured, said Paul Hall, senior vice-president of airport operations.

One report said the plane, a Boeing 737-800, skidded off the runway and broke through a perimeter fence, coming to rest in water.

The planes fuselage was cracked, its right engine broke off from the impact and the left main landing gear collapsed, said Tim Smith, an American Airlines spokesman at the companys headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas.

Passenger Verona Hall told the Jamaica Observer: It was a rough landing, we could no longer see the lights of Kingston. The plane broke and we could suddenly smell fuel.

One passenger on the plane, American aid worker Sean Osner, said the aircraft was on the ground for five to 10 seconds before it skidded off the runway and broke up.

My first instinct was to get off the plane because of the fuel that was leaking, Osner told CBC News.

Seated near one of the places where the planes fuselage broke, Osner said he was out of the plane within 15 seconds of the crash, one of the first people to get out.

Im doing pretty well, all things considered, he said. Osner said he has some lacerations on his hand and some bruised ribs.

Speaking to The Associated Press, passenger Pilar Abaurrea described a chaotic scene as the plane skidded along the runway in heavy rain.

All of a sudden, when it hit the ground, the plane was kind of bouncing, someone said the plane was skidding and there was panic, Abaurrea, of Keene, N.H., said in a telephone interview.

An 18-month-old girl who was taken from a police station by a mystery woman has been found safe and well. Audrey Nyanor was found at an address in Harlesden, north west London. A woman in her 30s, who was with Audrey when she was found, has been arrested. The child had been taken from Walworth police station in south-east London by a woman claiming to be a friend of the toddler's mother. Her mother, 36-year-old Cynthia Boakye, had been arrested in connection with alleged immigration offences. She was later released on bail. She told Sky News: "We are very very happy. We have not been able to eat, sleep, nothing. Now we thank God. "I haven't seen Audrey yet, so I'm not as happy as I could be, because I don't know what state she is in." Audrey's grandmother Agatha Owsuah said the child's safe return was "a very big Christmas present". She said: "The police were supposed to check with Audrey's mother that the woman who came to collect her was her friend. They did not do that." Police said: "At approximately 10.30am a woman attended the police station purporting to be a 46-year-old friend of the mother. "The details she gave to police corresponded with the name of the woman Audrey's mother had told police would pick up her daughter. "As a result she left the police station with the child at approximately 10.40am. "Subsequently it became apparent that the woman was not the same person who had been organised to pick up the child. Police issued images of the woman at the police station and at Elephant and Castle Tube station, where she was pictured carrying Audrey. Seven people have been arrested over the incident. All but one have been released on bail.
Ban Ki-Moon hints that Obama will be the savior of Copenhagen in a last minute turnaround for the globalists

Paul Joseph Watson
Prison Planet.com
Wednesday, December 16, 2009
United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has again publicly admitted that the agenda behind the Copenhagen summit and the climate change fraud is the imposition of a global government and the end of national sovereignty.
Speaking about the agenda to impose targets on CO2 emissions, as well as a global tax on financial transactions and a direct tax on GDP, Ban Ki-moon told the Los Angeles Times in an interview, "We will establish a global governance structure to monitor and manage the implementation of this."
"We need to have a very strong, robust, binding political deal that will have an immediate operational effect. This is not going to be a political declaration, just for the sake of declaration. It is going to be a binding political deal, which will lead to a legally binding treaty next year," he told the Times' Bruce Wallace, adding that a formal treaty would be signed by mid-2010.
Ki-moon also hinted that the arrival of President Barack Obama could grasp victory from the jaws of defeat for the globalists, who up until now have looked like failing in their efforts to secure a multilateral agreement at Copenhagen that includes China, India and the United States.
Could Obama roll in as the "savior" of Copenhagen in an eleventh hour turnaround?
(ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW)

The Secretary General has not been shy in proclaiming the unfolding agenda for a global dictatorship to override national parliaments.
In an October New York Times editorial entitled "We Can Do It," Ki-moon wrote that efforts to impose restrictions on CO2 emissions "Must include an equitable global governance structure."
Fellow globalist and environmentalist David De Mayer Rothschild also disclosed the agenda for global governance in a recent interview with *la*hmberg news.
"It's past the point of talking. We know historically that the global governance sort of agenda to these issues is very hard to... with all the best intentions it's very hard to actually activate." Rothschild noted.
New EU President Herman Van Rompuy said earlier this month that the Copenhagen conference was, "The first step towards the global management of our planet."
Similarly, Al Gore said in a speech earlier this year that attempts to regulate CO2 emissions would be driven through "global governance and global agreements."
Ten years ago, people who warned about a coming new world order bossed by a global government were called paranoid conspiracy theorists. Is the march towards a one world government still a conspiracy theory, even as its architects openly announce its implementation?

New College Sex Tape Surface

findImg.php?pic_size=200&table_name=news_img_tab&table_field=img_id&img_id=2158 One would figure that the plethora of sex tapes that made the rounds last year in the public arena causing a media frenzy, loss of jobs and public ridicule was enough warning for people to take heed and be cautious in their sexual escapades.

We all know that exposure of such activities can tarnish reputations while leaving persons mentally and emotionally scarred and scorned by the cruel society in which we live.

However those warnings seems to have fallen on deaf ears with the surfacing of a new sex tape entitled "Got Milk 2" involving two students allegedly aligned to a popular tertiary institution in the Papine/Mona vicinity.

The video sent to the offices of 876radio.com involves a male and female student in a dormitory type setting that sees the young man coercing the girl to perform oral sex on him before engaging in intercourse.

During the ordeal the young girl is observed repeatedly asking if he wanted her to give him a little oral action before getting into the real deal. According to several observers they know both individuals and are positive of their enrollment in the academic institution in question.

The young man was said to be a popular figure a few years ago at a very prominent high school in the Corporate Area. Thankfully the young man was responsible enough to use a condom.

Due to our company policy and not wanting to tarnish the reputation of both individuals we will not post the video. But we have embedded some digitally retouched footage from the tape below for your viewing pleasure (see images below)

The Living Fire (formerly Chuck Fenda) performing at Sting 2K9. - Colin Hamilton

There was Sting 2009 before Lisa Hype and Sting 2009 after Lisa Hype, who came onstage at Jam world, Portmore, St Catherine, at a few minutes to 6 a.m. yesterday.

The pre-Lisa Hype Sting 2009 was very long, at times outright tedious and had precious few really high moments. The Sting after she had spoken to her widely circulated oral sex picture and had been booed heavily as well as applauded had much more of what the Sting audience seemed to appreciate - clashes (KipRich walked up on General B and lyrically chopped him into very small pieces), invitations to clash (Bounty Killer asked the crowd if he should build or kill Kartel and got a mixed response) and mix-up, Twin of Twins taking the house down repeatedly.

The crowd hollered when one twin asked "where the stage organiser? A di mic Lisa Hype use? I don't want it a r....c...t". They had barbs for LA Lewis "as a famous liar/sey him tek driver's licence tun frequent flier", Busy Signal and the 'Gary' mix up and recalled dancehall days when Carlene was hot and "when Kartel did black".

But with Vybz Kartel closing off Sting 2009 at 8:20 a.m. yesterday with a mere 10-minute performance, the large crowd lapping up every second, and Mavado (who preceded Bounty Killer) leaving out quite a few of his popular 2009 songs, including House Cleaning and She Beat Him, it was always a matter of time constraints.

hard-earned money

Assassin, as is standard for him, insisted on putting on a good show for the people's hard-earned money in the dawning hours and did so, Hand To Mouth especially, resonating with the audience. He commented that there were those who looked as if they want to overlook him, "true Babylon nah haul an pull me an me a do me ting decent".

Anthony B delivered a lyric in support of Buju Banton, incorporating a recording of the deejay. There was other support for the Gargamel, one selector playing Boom Bye Bye. Aidonia was gutturally effective in undiluted gunslinging mode.

In the end, the pre-Lisa Hype Sting was simply too long and the one after her, way too short and lacking in some highly anticipated moments - no one came up to clash Merciless, who was booed soundly as he floundered on stage after his Letter to Mama failed to reach the post, there was no clash between LA Lewis and Mr G, and Kartel did not respond to Bounty Killer, unless his opening "me no have no time fey yu" to introduce Dollar Sign counts. So as an overall concert, Sting 2009 was way below its 'stinging' standards.

Part of that might have been what the audience wanted, for when an MC asked all those who were happy to see the Gully/Gaza peace to show their hands, very, very few went up. And although there was a fair amount of word slinging, Lisa Hype applying her tongue to Stacious' reputation and Flippa Mafia - quickly back to his liquor splashing, money tossing ways - addressing Elephant Man - there was only the mismatch of General B and KipRich in terms of clashing.

booty bouncing

Lorna Golding, the Reverend Al Miller and Tiger, who was shown respect as he did his best at delivering a couple of his popular tracks, including Puppy Love and Run Come Back To Me with Anthony Malvo, were surprise guests. Still, the Twins later commented "Sting oonu terrible. Me see oonu boo all pastor".

Pamputae's booty bouncing to an accelerating drum beat was a literal high point for her.

In Sting 2009, past midnight, Chino was one of the very few standouts on a night of very short showings passed off as performances, Laden and Wasp falling way short of their impact on record.

Nesbeth, Romain Virgo and Lady G among those who roused the audience to approval and Harry Toddler and Tifa stirring them to boos and jeers. And there were moments when singers were on key with good material, but Sting was not in an overly embracing mood for them, Cherine Anderson with her take on Ring The Alarm and Stevie Face crooning Tell It Like It Is meeting that reception.

Interestingly, as Chuck Fender sang for Mama and his voice cracked in emotion, there seemed to be a respectful observance. Etana, who was singing Roots when the sound went for 15 minutes, continued singing for those before the stage, who clapped along to Rivers of Babylon. D'Angel, with her oversized wings, injected a rare moment of the theatre for which Sting is known, although that did not save her from some hounding handclaps, Charley Blacks having his best moment with his declaration of "no new friend" at the end of his stage time.

See detailed reports on Lisa Hype's performance, General B and KipRich's clash in THE STAR this week.

HAVANA, Cuba (CMC):

Colossal Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt has topped Argentina's football superstar Lionel Messi in the poll for the best Latin American and Caribbean male athlete in 2009, the Cuba-based news agency Prensa Latina has reported.

World and Olympic sprint champion Bolt gathered 45 votes to keep the trophy he won last year, while defeating the world's No.1 footballer Messi, who picked up 18 votes.

Cuban triple jump World Champion Yargelis Savigne took the women's award.

Bolt used the IAAF World Championship in Germany in August to improve his world records in 100 and 200 metres, registering awesome times of 9.58 and 19.19 seconds, respectively, in Berlin.

The 6-foot-5-inch 23-year-old also helped Jamaica win the 4x100 relay gold in Berlin and in the past month he has also been named repeat winner of both the IAAF Male Athlete of the Year and BBC Overseas Sports Personality of the Year awards.

Outstanding year

Messi also had an outstanding year. The newly crowned FIFA World Footballer of the Year played a key role in the Spanish club Barcelona winning six trophies in 2009.

Savigne obtained 28 votes, 12 points over Jamaican 100-metre Olympic and World Champion Shelly-Ann Fraser, for the women's award.

Brazil emerged Latin American and Caribbean team of the year for the seventh time, mainly for landing the Confederations Cup in South Africa this past summer.

Among the other outstanding athletes of the year selected by 85 media from America, Europe, Africa and Asia were Argentine tennis player Juan Martin del Potro, Cuban wrestler Mijain Lopez, Brazilian swimmer Cesar Cielo, Dominican Republic baseball player Albert Pujols, Jamaican 400-metre hurdler Melaine Walker and Cuban cyclist Yumari Gonzalez

Vybz Kartel a.k.a Addi the Teacha wowed a record-sized audience during Pepsi Teensplash at James Bond Beach over the weekend with an entertaining set full of current hits.

Kartel adlibbed several times during his set, changing up his songs to get a forward.

Image

He entertained alongside Gaza Kim as they did Teenage Pregnancy, declaring that 'mi dun put it in already'. There was a moment when he took off his jacket and the girls screamed and he said with a self-deprecating smile: 'mi no suh thick!'. They screamed laughter.

He connected well with the audience as well, and when a group of girls screamed for him to take off his glasses. He joked: "yu waan mi tek off mi glasses. Tek off da draws de first," he said. The audience laughed, and the girls screamed in the affirmative. Then he said: "Just joking" before removing his glasses to another chorus of screams.

He also worked well with the Ruff Kut band - long considered the best backing band in dancehall - but the band stumbled a few times, playing the wrong rhythm and on another occasion, failed to find a rhythm on time. But The Teacha was kind, bigging up 'Ruff Kut the diamond'.

Image

Image
Earlier, Mavado worked a tight set and even bigged up Adidja Palmer before doing his number one hit, Hope and Pray. He got big forwards for his Christmas song, New Llama and Never Believe Yu.

Image
Mr. Vegas showed his great experience as a performer and immediately connected with the young crowd with his current hit, Man a Gallis, and kept that momentum right throughout his sizzling ten minute set, arguably the only performer who did so on a night of really good performances.

Image

Image

Earlier, G Whizz had impressed but perhaps overstayed his welcome a bit with five songs. Jahvinci worked well, doing a quick set full of his hits, and saving 'Watch Yu Friends' for last. Blak Ryno needs to work on his stage craft a bit more particularly his dressing, however, he still connected with the crowd who loved Bike Back.

Image

Black Queen surprised quite a few people with her set, walking on with You Say and then doing Dream Lover. She got a nice forward when she sang 'Kartel was mi one and only but him lef because mi never freaky'. Baby Tash was simply electric during her performance, and she radiated sex appeal with her curvaceous body and her delightful dance moves. She earned an immediate roar with her popular song, Mix Up, before doing the socially conscious Nah Bleach. However, it was her monster radio hit Facebook song that had the audience singing along and watching her every move, and she closed by doing a new song, Fair Share a capella.

Image

Actress Brittany Murphy Dies In LA At Age 32

The unexpected death of 32-year-old Brittany Murphy, who gained fame in such movies as 8 Mile and Just Married, appeared to be from natural causes but police are investigating, officials said.

Murphy died about 10 a.m. Sunday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, according to the hospital.

She was transported to the medical center after the Fire Department responded to a call at 8 a.m. at the home she shared with her husband, British screenwriter Simon Monjack, in the Hollywood Hills.

Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said Murphy apparently collapsed in the bathroom, and authorities were looking into her medical history.

An official cause of death may not be determined for some time, since toxicology tests will be required, but it appears to be natural, Winter said. He said an autopsy was planned for Monday or Tuesday.

Los Angeles police have opened an investigation into Murphys death, Officer Norma Eisenman said. Detectives and coroners officials were at Murphy and Monjacks home Sunday afternoon but did not talk to reporters. Paparazzi were camped outside the multistory home, located above the Sunset Strip.

Neighbor Clare Staples said she saw firefighters working to resuscitate the actress Sunday morning. She said Murphy was on a stretcher.

Murphys husband, wearing pajama bottoms and no shoes, appeared dazed as firefighters tried to save her, Staples said. Its just tragic, she added.

Murphys publicist, Nicole Perna, said in a statement: In this time of sadness, the family thanks you for your love and support. It is their wish that you respect their privacy.

Messages left for Murphys manager and agent by The Associated Press were not immediately returned.

Murphys father, Angelo Bertolotti, said he learned of her death from his son, the actresss brother, and was stunned.

She was just an absolute doll since she was born, Bertolotti said from his Branford, Fla., home. Her personality was always outward. Everybody loved her, people that made movies with her, people on a cruise, they all loved her. She was just a regular gal.

He said he hadnt heard much about the circumstances of Murphys death. Bertolotti divorced her mother when Murphy was young and hadnt seen Murphy in the past few years.

She was just talented, Bertolotti said. And I loved her very much.

Born Nov. 10, 1977, in Atlanta, Murphy grew up in New Jersey and later moved with her mother to Los Angeles to pursue acting.

Her career started in the early 1990s with small roles in television series, commercials and movies. She is best known for parts in Girl, Interrupted, Clueless and 8 Mile.

Her on-screen work had lessened of late, but Murphys voice gave life to numerous animated characters, including Luanne Platter on more than 200 episodes of Foxs King of the Hill and Gloria the penguin in the 2006 feature Happy Feet.

She is due to appear in Sylvester Stallones upcoming film, The Expendables, set for release next year.

Her role in 8 Mile led to more recognition, Murphy told AP in 2003. That changed a lot, she said. That was the difference between people knowing my first and last name as opposed to not.

Murphy credited her mother, Sharon, with being a key to her success.

When I asked my mom to move to California, she sold everything and moved out here for me, Murphy said. I was really grateful to have grown up in an environment that was conducive to creating and didnt stifle any of that. She always believed in me.

She dated Ashton Kutcher, who costarred with Murphy in 2003s romantic comedy Just Married.

Kutcher sent a message on Twitter Sunday morning about Murphys death: 2day the world lost a little piece of sunshine, Kutcher wrote. My deepest condolences go out 2 Brittanys family, her husband, & her amazing mother Sharon.

Funeral arrangements have not been announced.

Nellys Mansion Robbed

While rap star Nelly was away in Atlanta handling business, security back at his mansion in St. Louis were trying to defend the home from a burglary. Police say a man broke into the St. Louis rappers home in the suburban area of he city, and stole a number of electronics and video games.

St. Louis County polie spokesman Rick Eckhard says the robber used a window to get into the home and when someone inside the home confronted the intruder, he fled through the same window with a duffel bag full of some of Nellys expensive electronics.

No one is in custody at this moment.

Multi-platinum songstress Mary J. Blige is rebuking reports that she punched her husband Kendu Isaacs in the face Tuesday night at her NYC album release party.

blige_kendu640_doomsday_604x341.gif

According to initial reports from anonymous "sources," the fight occurred when Isaacs was seen flirting with several female waitresses, causing Blige to strike and taunt him.

"She turned to him and was screaming, 'You're not going to ruin my night,' " an alleged witness told the NY Post. "Theygot up in each other's faces before someone tried to separate them, atwhich point she shoved the guy aside, pulled back and popped [Isaacs]in the face. She was yelling at him, 'What are you gonna do, ChrisBrown me?'"

From there, Blige's bodyguards were said to have escorted Isaacs from the M2 Ultra Lounge venue.

Blige's publicist Kerynne Tencer released a statement denying the incident, and proclaimed the couple's relationship is on steady ground.

"People lie and don't know what they're talking about," Tencerexplained. "They're as happy as can be. They're spending the holidaystogether with their three children. Everything's great."

Blige and Isaacs, who also serves as her manager, have been married since 2003.

On Tuesday (December 21), Blige released Stronger with Each Tear, her 9th studio LP after a 2-year hiatus. To date, Blige has maintained a streak of every album since 1992's What's the 411? going platinum or multi-platinum.

The album features guest spots from Drake, T.I., and Trey Songz. Production credits include Ryan Leslie, The Runners, Polow Da Don, The Dream, Stargate, and Tricky Stewart.

Sting 2009 Budget Problem.

November 28, 2009
Started By dj_fraydo15 Comments
Isaiah Laing, head of Supreme Promotions, which stages
the huge Sting concert on Boxing Day annually has a J$10
million budget problem and rising.

Vybz Kartel is said to be demanding Us$100,000
(approximatelyJ$9 million) from the Supreme promoters
to battle the two alliance deejays at the same time.

At the launch of Sting on Tuesday night, Laing said Elephant
Man was running from a lyrical face-off with Flippa Mafia and,
as a result the 'Energy God' would not be on the show.

However, Elephant Man says he is not running from a clash. Elephant
Man says he is willing to clash Flippa Mafia at Sting if promoter Isaiah
Laing is willing to pay him Us$55,000 (approximatelyJ$5 million).

Since Guinness gave up the title sponsorship of Sting, they have
not had a sponsor pick up that huge role of title sponsorship causing
the budget shortfall. However, there is a much more immediate need and Laing says
Sting does not have sponsorship in its all-important platinum, gold
and silver categories.

A platinum sponsor is required to put in US$500,000 on a three-year
commitment and gets title sponsorship. A contribution of US$200,000
secures a gold categorisation and presenting sponsorship status, while
an investment of US$90,000 is necessary for silver, or service sponsorship.

( l - r ) Bounty Killer, Vybz Kartel - File photos

Sting boss Isaiah Laing is saying the 'war order' has been sent out by the Warlord Bounty Killer and fans can expect the 'real clash' this year, reminiscent of Sting's 'four the hard way' clash in 2000.

While many may have felt that the recent peace agreement between Gully and Gaza heads, Mavado and Vybz Kartel respectively, has put a damper on any 'war vibes' for Sting on Boxing Day, Laing is looking for a peaceful clash possibly among Bounty Killer, Merciless, Mavado and Vybz Kartel.

It happened once at Sting 2000 among Merciless, Bounty Killer, Ninja Man and Beenie Man when Merciless took on the three heavyweights and claimed victory.

Now Laing is hoping for a repeat of history. He explained, "I spoke to Bounty Killer and he is ready for it and if he's ready someone has to step up to di plate and challenge him. He has sent out the war order and he's ready to attack anybody." According to Laing, the clash will be reminiscent of older Sting battles, promising a peaceful clash where the deejays will lyrically confront each other and shake hands in the morning, friends once again.

"Remember the 2000 closing line-up for Sting, where Merciless walked out on stage and we had the 'four the hard way', just picture dat in the morning this year" Laing added.

According to Laing he couldn't be happier about the peace between the Gully and Gaza factions, which took place earlier this month at West Kingston Jamboree, as he believes their war was taking the wrong path. However, he was quick to remind THE WEEKEND STAR that Bounty Killer and Vybz Kartel still have their issues that need to be resolved.

Laing said, "me a di clash master so Sting will never be soft. Last year was red hot wid Mavado and Kartel, but expect more this year. Tell the people come out and believe me, when I say something big is gonna happen, di real clash."

In a release sent to THE WEEKEND STAR, Bounty Killer is already in war mode saying, "Warlord on the attack again, full suit a black again, nuh body nuh badda dan we, Alliance wi name, all a dem a mi pickney dem."

Also, in an advertisement that started airing today, Bounty Killer sent out a warning aimed at Vybz Kartel, Merciless and long time rival Beenie Man. In the ad he deejays, "Sting kill everyting ... mi sey nuh boy nuh badda dan me ... Warlord forever, prepare fi whadever, whoever, whenever, fi done dem a mi pleasure, dem nuh smart and dem nuh clever."

He continues, "Rodney Pryce dis di Alliance boss an a nuff years mi nuh change mi cross, tell Santa Clause no cross ma path, sey dem a teacha mussi fi tattoo and bleaching class, so run up, if dem bad fi come up. Di bleach out crawny one weh all sick mi stomach, di one weh go foreign a prison weh man have a bung up ..."

While popular acts such as Beenie Man, Elephant Man and other veterans are not on the Sting line-up this year, Laing still believes the event will be a 'tough' one with a slew of new artistes.

He said, "all the young artistes have it, the chart toppers segment are all hot steppers, all of them have a number one song, Sting is di place where change is going to happen in dancehall. You also have like 23-24 females on di show so you'll see a difference next year in the business, the men shouldn't feel like they are the only ones on top."

The 'chart-toppers' segment includes acts such as Charly Black, Chino, Laden, Twin of Twins, Wasp, Flexxx, Chase Cross, Jah Vinci, Blak Ryno, while the female artistes include Tifa, D 'Angel, Lisa Hype, Pamputae, I-Shawna and others.

Vybz Kartel scored yet another number one single on the Jamaica Music Countdown charts with 'Completely' featuring Indu knocking Macka Diamond and Unicorn off the top spot. This is his sixth number one single since the start of the year, a phenomenal run that is unrivalled in recent dancehall history.

"I just want to say thank you to the Gaza fans who continue to support the music. My album, Pon Di Gaza, will be available on iTunes at the end of this month, continue to support the movement," he said. The previous number one singles were Million By a Morning, Ramping Shop, Last Man Standing, Mama and Mind Pon Mi Money.

Something ah Go Happen inched to #13, while Love Dem shot up four places to #16. Another Kartel single, Versatility jumped into the top 20. Vybz Kartel is booked solid for the months of September and October, with shows lined up for Bermuda, Trinidad, Barbados in consecutive weeks in October.
