A trio of men dressed in women's clothing and sporting long hair, and who declared themselves to be drag queens, caused quite a stir at the Norman Manley International Airport last Saturday.
The men, who were reportedly turned back from Curaçao, caught the eyes and attentions of both airport staff as well as those in the airport's arrival section.
drag queen show
A source from the airport told THE WEEKEND STAR that the men, who said they were going to the island for a drag queen show, left Jamaica on Saturday morning only to return later that night. The source said the Immigration authorities in Curaçao had denied the men access to the country. They reportedly claimed that they were going to the island to participate in a drag queen show.
The men, who were all wearing tights, skinny jeans, form fitting blouses and the latest wigs, caught the eyes of everyone with their effeminate demeanour and 'over the top' personalities. One of the men reportedly sported a Louis Vuitton bag, which hung from his elbow.
After leaving the arrivals section, the men also created a scene on the outside of the airport where persons who had come to meet their relatives were gathered.
Attempts to contact the immigration officials in Curaçao were futile.
Members of the security forces had to deploy to sections of Mountain View Avenue in east Kingston yesterday, following the killing of two men, one of whom was a reputed don.
Dead are Howard Patterson, also called Bobo, the alleged area leader of the Goodridge Lane community off Mountain View Avenue and Troy Malcolm of a Jacques Road also off Mountain View Avenue.
According to reports, about 11:30 a.m. Patterson was shot and killed while at a shop at nearby Bygrave Avenue.
About an hour later in what the police theorise to be an act of reprisal, Malcolm was shot and his house set ablaze by heavily armed men who invaded his community. He perished in the fire.
Following Malcolm's murder heavily armed men challenged members of the security forces who were in search of his killers in a section of Goodridge Lane.
When THE WEEKEND STAR visited the community yesterday, policemen could be seen going from house to house in search of the men who were said to be firing at them.
persons of interest
The police identified two men, Michael Ewan, otherwise called 'Mikey One Two' and Khani Kirkland, also known as 'Junior' and 'Twiggy' as persons of interest in Malcolm's murder.
"Di bway dem pin wi down inna one yard eno star ... Wi end up a fire back but dem pin wi down agen cause one a di squaddy dem drop him phone, mi tell him fi left it and him seh him cyaa do dat cause a Blackberry," one of the policemen recalled as he spoke about the gunbattle between the police and heavily armed thugs.
A number of men and women from the community were detained, a situation which angered a few residents who accuse the police of being biased.
"Is a man from ya suh dem kill but yet still a we dem a terrorise ... A foolishness dat," one irate woman who gave her name as Paula said.
A long-standing feud between Goodridge Lane and Jacques Road heightened in recent times following reports that thugs from Goodridge Lane tricked their counterparts from Jacques Road into lending them guns. After the plot was revealed they declared the guns would not be returned.
The police say they will be maintaining a strong presence in the areas.
"I hope we can take this whole industry back to where it was beneficial for everyone, first up the producers," said Waggy Tee, who premiered the Genesis on Miami's 99 JAMZ station last week. "Any service or input I can give in this new movement to improve our music (reggae, dancehall) to make it official and proper I am willing to give assistance," continued Waggy Tee, echoing the sentiments of many people in the industry since DASECA announced three weeks ago that they would be promoting their riddim in a structured way.
"So much years I have fought with corporate to respect our music and add it in rotation for airplay," lamented Waggy. "But end up in a wall because of so much low quality production (non mixed & mastered) circulating around and no direction in promotion, no managing & production department to call or talk to about their music. Its so unreal, and to the crossover market they look at our music as not ready for prime time since we don't have our %&%* together (organized). Anyway i could go on & on and sound like a broken record (cliche) about the past 10 years of our music and industry its sad that we still haven't gotten the formula yet to compete in the market."
With several other Jamaican production houses also structuring releases in a similar way, it seems their may be a new movement in Dancehall and Reggae to address the ailing sales and lack of proper marketing/promotion by the traditional Reggae labels. Genesis rididm is available on iTunes, Amazon, Juno and all other digital retail stores now.
Popular reggae artiste, Louie Culture, who is based in Portland, is now in custody at the Port Antonio Police Station lock-up following a shooting incident last Saturday.
THE WEEKEND STAR understands that the artiste has been at the lock-up since Sunday following the incident in east Portland which resulted in two persons being shot.
According to reports, a group of men were playing dominoes at a bar near Hartford when a man approached them armed with a gun.
It is alleged that the man fired one shot, which grazed a man on one of his arm before hitting another man.
Both men were taken to the Port Antonio Hospital, where they were treated and released.
Following the shooting, the police issued a warrant for the reggae artiste, who they believe could assist with their investigation. The artiste turned himself in the following day and was arrested.
The artiste has not yet been charged.
Attack ... lions killed poacher
Rangers said they believed the man was devoured by the beasts after he was chased by a pack of wild hippos while hunting in the world famous reserve.
He was reported missing last week by two alleged fellow poachers who managed to escape the horror.
Officials who searched the area where the attack happened later discovered part of a human skull and pieces of ripped clothing.
South African National Parks spokeswoman Laura Mukwevho said the group had been setting snares when they were cornered by the animals.
She added: "What we have heard from those who survived suggests this was a vicious attack by wild animals.
"It appears the man was chased by hippos. We assume he must then have been eaten by lions.
"It is impossible to say whether he was alive or dead by the time the lions got to him."
A statement released by the park said: "Two individuals, who are currently poaching suspects and were with the deceased inside the park, actually alerted his family about the possibility of him having being killed by animals in the park.
"According to these suspects who were with the deceased, the three men entered the park on the night of March 12 to place snares in the area.
"The following night they went back to check if there was any catch on their snares but nothing was caught.
"That night the suspects alerted the attention of hippos who charged them, however, they managed to escape and eventually got out of the park.
"The deceased was not fortunate enough to make an escape and that is when the two suspects decided to inform his family about what had happened.
"The family reported him missing to the police, who referred the matter to the park rangers and mounted a search.
"After two days of patrol, the rangers managed to pick-up few pieces of clothes and eventually the skull on March 20."
The victim of the lion attack has not yet been named but officials indicated he was a local man.
His two pals were today being held at a police station near the park.
A spokesman said it was believed the pair could have been linked to other poaching cases at the reserve.
Kruger Park's head of public relations William Mabase paid his condolences to the family of the dead man.
He said: "On behalf of SANParks, we wish to express our sincere condolences to the family for the loss of their loved one.
"Many lives have been lost to wild animals due to people not taking the necessary precautions."
The Kruger Park is one of the world's largest and best-known game reserves.
The proprietors of four premises within the St Andrew Central police division are to appear in court on charges of operating without a spirit licence and exposing alcohol for sale.
Head of the division, Derrick 'Cowboy' Knight told THE WEEKEND STAR that raids were carried out on Wednesday at Rebel T HQ, Insomnia, 'The View (owned by deejay Junior Reid) and another bar.
Summonses were served during the raids and the proprietors are to appear in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on April 1.
Superintendent Knight further told THE WEEKEND STAR during one of the raids an underage girl was seen who was operating as a sex worker.
"We saw a young girl who at first said she was 18 plus ... Following investigations we found out she was 17 and that is illegal, plus she was operating as a sex worker who is all the way from Clarendon," Superintendent Knight said, before adding that the owner may be slapped with charges relating to the Child Care and Protection Act and Human Trafficking Act.
A quantity of expensive liquor such as Hennessy and Hypnotiq were also seized and will be used as evidence in court as the police will look to backup their claim that the owners were not licensed to to sell alcohol.
"This is the beginning of many more operations," the tough-talking Knight said.
Over the next two months venues within the division which have attracted 'night noise' complaints will be raided and the owners taken before the courts if found in breach of any laws.
"Some of these fines are exorbitant and there is the possibility of being locked up," Knight warned.
A 21-year-old man was arrested and subsequently charged yesterday after he was reportedly found with a board gun while identifying himself as a policeman.
Superintendent Derrick 'Cowboy' Knight, head of the St Andrew Central police, said the man was held in Half-Way Tree after he tried to arrest another man.
Reports are that about 5 p.m., authentic policemen saw the man as he tried to apprehend another man.
The policemen became suspicious and when approached, he reportedly told them that he was attached to the Ministry of National Security and Intelligence Unit.
He reportedly even went as far as to give a badge number.
The police demanded a search and he was found with a board gun in his waistband.
He was then arrested.
The taunting of a batsman is alleged to have been too much for a bowler who is accused of attacking and punching him after he ridiculed his bowling during a cricket match on Wednesday at the University ofTechnology, St Andrew.
The bowler was a member of the home team while the batsman was a member of the Bethlehem Moravian College in St Elizabeth. The two institutions were competing in an inter-collegiate league match.
four stitches
A fuming George Henry, coach of the Bethlehem Moravian College Cricket team, told THE WEEKEND STAR he will be making a formal complaint to the Inter-Collegiate Sports Association following the incident which left his player with four stitches to his chin.
"You hear of these things in other sports but not cricket...and to think that these are the future leaders of tomorrow," an upset Henry said when contacted yesterday.
According to Henry, UTech had batted already and was bowled out for 118 runs.
With batsmen from the St Elizabeth institution at the creases some time around 3:00 p.m., UTech's first bowler delivered a series of wide balls.
His first legal ball was rocketed to the boundary for four runs.
The batsman at the non-striker's end of the pitch is alleged to have started jeering the bowler.
Further allegations are that the batsman was then punched in the face.
Efforts to reach the coach of the UTech cricket team were unsuccessful. However, when contacted, the acting head of the school's sports department, Carla Gordon-Russell, told THE WEEKEND STAR that although she was aware of the incident, she had no details.
"I was not there, so I could not say exactly what happened, when I got there everybody was going about their normal business already," she said.
Her department is now awaiting reports which will be submitted by the two parties involved, she added.
'You hear of these things in other sports but not cricket ... and to think that these are the future leaders of tomorrow'.
The Port Henderson hip strip more popularly known as, Back Road, in Portmore, St Catherine, is said to be becoming a strange place, as the world's oldest profession is now moving in a dangerous direction, with some men depriving the women of their business.
"Yes de bwoy dem nah give us a chance to make any money, as the vehicle pull up if you don't mind dem push yu down to approach the man wid them business," one prostitute told THE WEEKEND STAR as she protested the new practice.
Other prostitutes were likewise upset and concerned about the new male hookers, and say they have noticed that the amount of men doing it has increased.
"Sometimes them even try to intimidate you, when you make a sale and even a tell us the business is for all," revealed another prostitute.
THE WEEKEND STAR learnt that although most men will visit the stretch of road for entertainment, there are a few who have been daring enough to take up the 'male sellers' on their offers.
"A pure hype vehicle dem go inna, dem need fi stop as God nah sleep," another of the disgruntled female reasoned.
The St Catherine South police said there was no official report on the matter. They however promised to look into it.
"We have not received any official reports on the matter. If it is happening it's a criminal offence and we would have to investigate the matter," Deputy Superintendent Clive Blair, operations officer for St Catherine South, told THE WEEKEND STAR.
Thirty-five year-old Kenyouth Brissett of Barnett Bush in St James, chopped and stabbed 22-year-old Shadae Barker to death on the Barnett Bush main road.
Allegations are that Brissett and Barker were involved in an intimate relationship which produced two children, ages 1 and 3. Barker later found out that they were cousins and decided to end the relationship, but Brissett objected to the proposal.
On Wednesday, Brissett armed himself with a knife and machete and confronted Barker in the presence of two of her relatives, both ten years old. Risk ... more women are getting syphilis after romps with web pals
Figures released last month showed that people in Sunderland, Durham and Teesside were 25 per cent more likely to log on regularly.
And an NHS trust chief said Facebook and similar sites were to blame for a shocking rise in cases of potentially-lethal syphilis in the region.
Professor Peter Kelly, director of Public Health for NHS Tees, said: "There has been a four-fold increase in the number of syphilis cases detected, with more young women being affected."
He said staff had found a link to social networking sites among those infected.
Prof Kelly said: "I don't get the names of people affected, just figures. And I saw that several of the people had met sexual partners through these sites.
"Social networking sites are making it easier for people to meet up for casual sex. There is a rise in syphilis because people are having more sexual partners than 20 years ago and often do not use condoms."
Syphilis cases in Britain fell due to the widespread use of condoms in the 1980s and '90s. It can cause serious heart, respiratory tract and central nervous system damage. But Health Protection Agency figures revealed there were 4,000 cases nationwide last year.
The highest rates are in women aged 20 to 24 and men aged 25 to 34.
In Teesside there were 30 cases last year - but the true figure is likely to be higher.
An official statement said: "NHS Tees is warning people about the dangers of syphilis following a rise in cases of the devastating disease."
Prof Kelly added: "There is a possibility that there is a pool of people who have been infected and that these cases are linked. We don't know where the outbreak originated but it is on the rise."
Studies have shown that adults are more likely to indulge in risky sexual behaviour with partners they meet on the internet.
Last night a spokesperson for Facebook said users should take "precautions" and be careful with meeting anyone they have encountered online.
Medics at Southampton General Hospital struggled to get the man's penis out of the stainless steel pipe, because the restricted *lo** flow had caused it to become erect.
Instead, they resorted called in Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service.
The fire crew turned up with a special equipment unit from St Mary's station in Southampton and seven firefighters to help, in what a spokesman understatedly described as a 'delicate operation'.
The firefighters used the four-and-a-half-inch industrial metal grinder to cut the pipe from around the anaesthetised man's penis.
The penis was left bruised and swollen, but otherwise unharmed by its traumatic day.
The man, thought to be aged around 40, did not explain to hospital staff how exactly the pipe got stuck around his penis, after he presented himself at the hospital's Accident & Emergency department on Tuesday morning. He was said to be 'quite concerned and anxious'.
A Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: 'It was a very delicate operation that required a very steady hand and the crew was worried about things getting too hot during the cutting.
'It's certainly an unusual call-out, and I'm sure the man won't be getting into that situation again.'
Watch manager Greg Garrett from the Redbridge fire station told the Southampton daily Echo: 'Ive only come across this type of thing three or four times in my 17 years as a firefighter. Its not a daily occurrence.'
The man have been identified as Alton Heath, otherwise called 'Sick Head' of Seventh Street; Desmond Kennedy, otherwise called 'Dezzy' of Fourth Street; Marlon Duncan, otherwise called 'Dutchman' also of Fourth Street, all in Greenwich Town, Kingston, and Chadrick Gordon, otherwise called Andre Reid of Slipe Pen Road, Kingston. A fifth man who was implicated was killed by his cronies who accused him of "informing" on them. The other four are still on the run.
sewage tank
The dead women are Simone Vernon and Catherina Webb who were 21 and 23 years old, respectively, of Olympic Gardens addresses. The survivor was 20 years old at the time.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Michael Phipps, then detective inspector, who led the investigations, had initially reported that about 9 p.m. on October 20, 2005, the survivor was at a bar in which she was employed in Greenwich Town when Webb and Vernon visited her.
Shortly after, Gordon entered. He was in the company of some other men. They proceeded to hold up and robbed the establishment then took the women to a football field in Greenwich Town where they were joined by other men.
This brought the total to nine. The men raped the ladies repeatedly, after which they shot them several times. They then took them to a section of the community where they were dumped in a sewage tank. The survivor managed to escape and reported the gruesome incident.
DSP Phipps' intensive investigations - even though the bodies of the other females were not found - led to a capital murder conviction by the jury.
Susan Finkelstein was arrested in Philadelphia in October 2008 after she met the undercover officer when he responded to a Craigslist ad she had placed titled 'DESPERATE BLONDE NEEDS WS TIX'.
The ad began: 'Diehard Phillies fan -- gorgeous tall buxom blonde -- in desperate need of two World Series tickets.'
The undercover officer alleges that, after a short chat, she offered him anal sex in exchange for the ticket, saying she had brought lube with her. When the officer said he had a brother, 'Bob', who also had a ticket, he says Finkelstein then offered to have a threesome with the two.
Finkelstein - who is charged with prostitution and criminal attempt - insists she was just leading him on in the hope of getting a better price on the tickets.
Speaking in her defence, Finkelstein's attorney William J. Brennan said: 'If she is in the business of prostitution, is she just open in October?... So she's just open in the Octobers when we have [the Phillies] in the World Series? That business is not open very often.'
Finkelstein did in fact end up going to see the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Tampa Bay Rays to win the World Series - after a local radio station offered her tickets.
Do you think risky behavior and a lack of proper medical attention caused that unfortunate case of syphilis?
Not so fast a health official in England says it might have been Facebook.
A public health director recently told Londons The Telegraph that a rise in sexually transmitted diseases in his area could be linked to the fact that sites such as Facebook are popular there.
"Social networking sites are making it easier for people to meet up for casual sex, Peter Kelly, director of public health in Teesside, said according to a Wednesday article in the paper.
The story, which appeared in numerous British tabloids, was met with smirks online. Social-networking site Mashable called the report stretched at best.
Blog TechCrunch called the story dubious in a post titled, Calm down. Facebook doesnt cause syphilis.
Meanwhile, Facebook called the reports ludicrous.
While it makes for interesting headlines, the assertions made in newspaper reports that Facebook is responsible for the transmission of STDs are ridiculous, exaggerate the comments made by the professor, and ignore the difference between correlation and causation, said Facebook spokesperson Andrew Noyes in a written statement.
As Facebooks more than 400 million users know, our Web site is not a place to meet people for casual sex its a place for friends, family and coworkers to connect and share.
London, England (CNN) -- Rare photos of Russian strategic bomber jets purportedly intercepted in British airspace show Moscow's war machine is becoming increasingly bold, analysts said Thursday as Russia denied any territorial violations.
Britain's Ministry of Defence released images it said were taken earlier this month of two Russian Tu-160 bombers -- known as Blackjacks by NATO forces -- as they entered UK airspace near the Outer Hebrides islands off Scotland's northwest coast.
It said the March 10 incident, which resulted in crystal clear images of the planes against clear blue skies and a dramatic sunset, was one of many intercepts carried out by British Royal Air Force crews in just over 12 months.
"This is not an unusual incident, and many people may be surprised to know that our crews have successfully scrambled to intercept Russian aircraft on more than 20 occasions since the start of 2009," Wing Cdr. Mark Gorringe, of the RAF's 111 Squadron, said in a statement.
Washington (CNN) -- The availability of illegal drugs is increasing in the United States -- fueled largely by expanding activity from Mexican drug cartels -- and abuse of controlled prescription drugs is getting worse, according to the National Drug Threat Assessment 2010 report, released Thursday.
"The trafficking and abuse of drugs affects everyone," said Michael T. Walther, director of the Justice Department's National Drug Intelligence Center, which produced the report. "The economic cost alone is estimated at nearly $215 billion annually."
The Mexican cartels, the report says, are "the single greatest drug trafficking threat to the United States." The Mexican organizations have operations in every region of the United States and are expanding into more rural and suburban areas.
They've also stepped up cooperation with U.S. street and prison gangs for distribution.
Continue To ReadA judged sentenced the 25-year-old on Monday, after he was convicted in January of trespassing on jail property and resisting an officer for trying to break into the Brevard County jail in Florida.
Authorities say Jiles tried to climb a 12-foot fence at the Brevard County Detention Center in August.
He had shown up at the jail three days after being released from it asking to be let back in to the jail where he had serving time for manslaughter, saying he feared retaliation from his victim's family.
When prison officials told him they couldn't take him in, and advised him to file a police report, he took more direct action and clambered over a fence to break into the jail. He was attempting to scale a second fence, topped with razor-sharp wire, when he fell and suffered severe cuts.
He was apprehended and taken to hospital for his injuries.

A man was given a $4,000 fine in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday for trespassing on the compound of the police and allegedly talking to a prisoner.
The accused man is identified as George Johnson of a Corporate Area address. He pleaded guilty to the charges; trespassing and communicating with a prisoner.
According to the allegations, the accused man jumped over the wall of the police station to gain entry to the premises.
Before his guilty plea, Johnson told the court that he jumped the wall because he wanted to talk to a female who was at the entrance of the Police Station. He mentioned that it was easier for him to jump the wall instead of walking around.
With regards to communicating with a prisoner, Johnson initially told the court that he did not enter the premises to speak with a prisoner, however, he later stated that he was guilty of the offence.
Johnson was ordered by the court to pay a fine of $2,000 or spend 30 days in prison for trespassing and $2,000 or 30 days for communicating with a prisoner.
FOLLOWING weeks of intense public debate and front page headlines in Barbados, the Mavado, Vybz Kartel unity concert scheduled for this weekend has been officially cancelled.
Prime Minister David Thompson made the announcement at a press conference held yesterday, exactly two days before the event. Thompson is quoted in the Barbados Advocate as saying: "That quest to do the right thing by Barbadians prompted my request for the meeting with the organisers of the proposed show and I am happy to announce that in deference to the expressed wishes and the anxieties of a very wide cross-section of Barbadians, that the organisers of the Mavado/Vybz Kartel show and Youth Forum have agreed to the revamping of initiatives resulting in the cancellation of this weekend's activities."
The prime minister said that persons were mainly concerned with the idea of these artistes being portrayed as role models.
"Don't leave here in any doubt; anything that has to be done to protect our children in this country will be done," he stressed.
Interestingly, Vybz Kartel, the Gaza president and Mavado, the Gully god performed in Barbados on separate occasions in October and November of last year, during what was then the height of Gully/Gaza tensions between them and their respective supporters. No attempt was reportedly made then by the government nor the police to prevent those concerts, which progressed incident-free.
There have been suggestions in some quarters that the cancellation stemmed in part from the fact that the promoter, Jack Farrell, is Vincentian and therefore should not have been the one to promote an event of this magnitude in Barbados.
"Mavado and Kartel sharing the same stage at a concert promoting peace and unity is huge by any standards. That is a sell-off event. And you must remember that there is a big reggae show in April, put on by promoters based here in Barbados," a source explained.
The commissioner of police, Darwin Dottin had stated initially that he did not have the manpower to police the show, and would therefore not grant the required permit.
That, however, was subsequently reversed and Farrell, who was named as joint promoter with the government-affiliated Barbados Youth Action Programme, subsequently resumed his planning for the event.
Farrell reportedly stated yesterday that the artistes had been booked to arrive in the island last night, but it was not clear whether or not they had actually left Jamaica for Barbados.
Farrell had said previously that a cancellation of the show would mean a loss of more than $200,000 for his company.
"I have invested a lot of money in this show, I've paid the artistes deposits, paid for advertising the show and paid for airline tickets and hotel accommodation, among other things," Farrell reportedly said.
He said the show would bring needed revenue into the country and enhance business for a number of interests such as boutiques and food vendors.
Police said the teenager went into the convenience store early last Saturday morning and approached the counter with numerous items.
As the clerk put his supposed purchases through the till, the would-be thief tried to sneak behind him and hold a knife to his neck.
But the quick-thinking clerk spun around with his hands up and hit the teenager in the face, knocking him to the floor.
Just before he took off, the teen asked his victim not to call the police and added: "Don't tell my mom."
The clerk was saved, at least, from having to resort to invoking the power of the lord - as another shopkeeper across the pond was compelled to do last year.

A popular 'preacher man' in east Kingston, has been accused of recently stopping his delivery of God's message to fight a man who claimed he saw him visiting an exotic club
THE STAR learnt that both men got into a fist fight on Monday afternoon along Mountain View Avenue.
The preacher was reportedly on his regular routine of delivering the gospel to a group of persons, when a man intervened and made allegations that he saw him at a go-go club in St Thomas recently.
The man, THE STAR heard, went as far as to describe what the preacher was wearing at the club.
Following a heated exchange of words both men are said to have began fighting.
This reportedly drew the attention of a number of residents who watched in amazement as the man, who on so many occasions had urged them to turn to Christ, threw punches in front of their eyes.
"Him popular roun ya eno cause a regular wi see him pon bus a preach and ting. Everybody a laugh even though some people cyaa believe it," Desrine Thompson, 38, a resident of Stadium Gardens told THE STAR.
According to her the preacher neither denied nor admitted to the allegations and that he simply walked away after the fight.
Although no official report was made to the police, the Mountain View police are aware of the incident.
A corporal from the station told THE STAR that a police team was on patrol when they encountered the men arguing.
They said that after enquiring about what was happening, they became aware of the situation.

(CNN) -- An audio message purportedly from al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden threatened retaliation against Americans if alleged 9/11 mastermind Khaled Sheikh Mohammed is executed.
The message -- aired Thursday by the Arabic-language TV network Al-Jazeera -- is directed at "the American people about our prisoners," the speaker said.
"Your master in the White House is following his predecessor in many important issues, like escalating the war in Afghanistan and unfairly treating our prisoners -- led by the hero jihadi Khalid Sheikh Mohammed," who faces trial in the United States for his alleged actions in the 2001 attack.
"The White House declared that they will execute Khaled Sheikh Mohammed and his comrades in arms."
If the United States makes a decision to execute al Qaeda prisoners, "it would be responsible when we execute anyone of you we capture," he threatened.
"We have been enduring your masters' oppression for a long time, especially by supporting Israel's occupation of our land in Palestine. Our reaction to that oppression was heard loudly on the 11th with God's help," a reference to the Sept. 11, 2001 attack on the United States.
"Justice is to be treated in the same manner," he said.
Purported bin Laden messages last surfaced in late January.
In one of them, the al Qaeda leader condemned the United States and other industrial nations for causing climate change. The message criticized former U.S. President George W. Bush for rejecting the Kyoto Protocol on global warming, and the speaker condemned international corporations.
In another, bin Laden claimed responsibility for the alleged Christmas Day attempt by Nigerian national Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab to blow up a Northwest Airlines plane as it approached Detroit, Michigan, from Amsterdam, Netherlands. Bin Laden also warned the United States of more attacks.
CNN could not independently confirm the authenticity of the messages.

Srivastava, who led a defense research laboratory in Assam, said trials are also on to produce bhut jolokia-based aerosol sprays to be used by women against attackers and for the police to control and disperse mobs.
