A man accused to stealing fish stayed under water in a fish pond for more than two hours at the Longville Park Farm in Clarendon yesterday in a bid to escape from the police.
We couldnt believe that anyone could stay under water for so long, a curious onlooker told Chat! at the scene.
We have never seen anything like this, bwoy, wi give up, cause wi neva si how anybody coulda hold dem breath fi dat dey amount a time, another person who was observing the whole drama told Chat!.
It all unfolded about 12 noon yesterday when the owner of the farm Danny Bunting observed the man illegally fishing from the pond. Bunting then drove up behind him and upon seeing the approaching van, tried to make his escape.
His luck ran out as he was cornered by Buntings son. Seeing his escape route was cut off, the thief jumped into the pond.
A report was made to the police who turned up promptly on the scene.
The police stayed for over two hours with the thief showing no sign of life, a Chat! source explained. It was only after the police voiced the suspicion that he might have drowned the decision was taken to call in a diver.
After making several attempts the diver found the thief lying at the bottom, holding his nose.
The Old Harbour Police confirmed the incident, informing that the accused is facing a praedial larceny charge.

According to a report on Dancehall USA Sizzla has not been home to Jamaica since he pitched up at Mugabes birthday party at short notice.
The 34 year old Jamaican, who has scored a number of hits and is generally popular among dancehall fans, reportedly received a large farm in Chegutu as part of his payment for playing at Mugabes bash and he intends to set it up as a youth development centre.
His continued presence raises questions about Zimbabwes commitment to background checks for issuing work permits. Sizzlas is reported to have been pushed through in record time.
He says he intends to set up agro- industries for young people. Zimdaily paid a visit to Chegutu and discovered that locals are either ecstatic that Sizzla will be staying in the area or reluctant to talk about him as they fear reprisals since most of his work is being pushed straight from Mugabes office.
A few cautioned Sizzla about losing his air of superstardom once he settled in the dust of Mashonaland West.
There is old saying- Familiarity breeds contempt- and Sizzla should be aware of this. Once he gets settled here, he will become like Lubumbashi Stars or Real Sounds- just another refugee trying to make a living in small clubs and at State functions, said a farmer in Zvimba.
A small section of Chegutu residents feels Sizzla could have a negative effect on young people in the area.
This is a man who is wanted for gun crimes and he is coming to settle here. He says he wants to start things with young people.
Our youths have been used many times and he wants to be the latest user.
This will not end well, said a pastor with a Chegutu church.
Hot on the heels of his acrimonious departure from Vybz Kartels Portmore Empire, comes a statement from dancehall deejay, Blak Ryno (real name Romain Anderson), that he has changed his stage name to Ryno Di Stinger, and that he is now associated with a new syndicate called Garrison which features several artistes including Kaliba, and a producer Super Blunt.
Here are excerpts from the statement:Romain Odden Anderson also known as Blak Ryno would like to inform the public that he will be moving on with his music career under the name Ryno di Stinger. He would also like to establish that his departure from the Portmore Empire was an act of his maturity and professionalism He is stronger than ever as he has held himself to high musical standards which have and will continue to yield great results This Syndicate brags the name Garrison as they are talented artist from prominent non-residential areas in Jamaica. They are musically competent and thus they strive to be successful.
Its ironic that two other Portmore Empire exiles Lisa Hyper and Kym also changed their names after similar controversial exits from the Gaza crew. Lisa Hyper was formerly known as Lisa Hype, and Kym was formerly known as Gaza Kim. Look out for a brand new single featuring Kym and Ryno Di Stinger it will likely be released this weekend.
The recent case of Vybz Kartel being banned from St. Lucia is now under investigation by the Jamaican government.
According to Wilton Dyer the ban that was imposed by the St. Lucian authorities might be a breach of the CARICOM free movement which applies to artistes, musicians and sports persons.
Several industry insiders believe its time for Jamaican artistes and musicians to unite and fight these ridiculous bans that are coming one behind the other.
The latest Caribbean country to reject Jamaican dancehall artistes from performing in their country is Triniday & Tobago.
A video depicting a popular businessman engaging in a sexual act with another man is becoming one of the most widely talked about and circulated item locally.
The clip is now being circulated via BlackBerry smartphones and has been placed on the popular website YouTube. The site has attempted to remove the video, but as soon as this is done, it is again uploaded.
It shows the figure, an outspoken individual who is widely known in uptown circles, getting his nipples sucked by another man.
At the start of the video, the businessman is seen sitting in a sofa. Another man soon enters the frame and proceeds to rub the businessman's chest. The man strokes both of the businessman's nipples, before biting one. During his stroking and biting, the man's face is caressed lovingly by the businessman.
A voice-over, which seems to have been added by a third party, mockingly describes the activities of both men. At one point the voice says, "yu (breast) dem a get big though."
The caption beneath the video placed on YouTube, describes the businessman in rather unflattering terms and speaks of his reputed falling out with previous employees.
As the video made the rounds, friends and associates of the businessman expressed shock and disgust. Some even reminisced about the businessman's recent conversations about women.
Efforts by THE STAR to contact him have so far been unsuccessful. Sources close to him however have said that he is not in the island.
ZJ Liquid shot scenes of his latest music video for Party Haad, at the Blaze nightclub in Portmore, St Catherine over the weekend.
The shoot featured some hot girls and a number of popular dancers who showed off the latest moves to the lyrics of Jamaica's number one Zip jock.
ZJ Liquid first visited Blaze nightclub in Portmore when he was a guest deejay one Friday for 'The Inferno' in late April.
After visiting the location, "he was so impressed with the spot that he decided to return to the club to shoot his Party Haad video last Saturday," a spokesperson for Blazing Events Management said. The club is becoming a hot spot for video shoots, as Konshens recently shot a video there.
When asked why he selected Blaze nightclub, Liquid said, "The place is just unique and Liquid's video has to be unique, so it goes without saying."
Check out THE STAR's behind-the-scene snippets from the shoot.
Jamaican singer Sean Kingston recently found himself in the hot seat with accusations being made against him of sexual assault.
According to www.tmz.com, Kingston has been accused of sexual assault for an incident that allegedly took place on Sunday night at the Crowne Plaza in Seattle, USA.
According to the report, cops are sceptical of the women's claim. TMZ stated that sources told them the two women showed up for a party in one of the hotel rooms and Kingston was present.
The report said, "law enforcement sources tell TMZ the women were both intoxicated when they arrived, with bottles of vodka and beer in hand. We're told one of the women claims Kingston had sex with her." It is also reported that Kingston left the party and went to another room on the same floor when one of the women became aggressive.
They claim that sources say the woman then proceeded to have sex with two other men in the room. The second woman also had sex with someone in the room.
tested for Rufinol
A hotel manager told TMZ "an incident" did indeed occur in the hotel on Sunday night, though he was not specific. They added that the fire department claims that an ambulance was called and transported both women - who are 19 and 20 years of age - to a hospital where rape tests were conducted. We're told the women were also tested for Rufinol, but the results are not in.
Sources say Kingston, who is scheduled to perform tonight with Justin Bieber in Portland in the United States, was initially asked by cops to come in for an interview, but police have determined the case is not credible and they now say an interview is unnecessary.
TMZ said that it is claimed that the women might file civil lawsuits.
Originally from Jamaica, Sean Kingston became an international success a few years ago with the break-out hit Beautiful Girls. The singer was recently in the island in Ocho Rios for the shooting of his video for the single Letting Go (Dutty Love) with rapper Nicki Minaj.
On his Twitter page, in what seems to be connected to the incident, Kingston commented, "I have the best management team and mother so the truth will soon surface only God knows right now so I don't have no problem, fans I luv you all."
He also added: "Just read my Bible and had a convo with the Lord and I'm gonna be fine ... . I just hate to get lied on, that's all."

If you know anything about gospel music the name Tonex will strike a chord. In 2004 he took the gospel world by storm when he released his Grammy nominated album Out The Box. Not only was it number one on the gospel charts, it also made a mark on the Top R&B charts.
While, Tonex, the artist was at the pinnacle of his career, Anthony Williams - the man -was facing controversy and turbulence.
In 2004, Tonex's father passed away of a heart attack and then assumed the pastoral duties of his church.
"I was more of a skittish person then because I was torn between career and, and calling. And that's the plight of many people who love God -- have a calling to do something between the construct of the church and religion," Tonex said.
But Tonex had yet to face his greatest challenge. It's been less than a year now that he come out and let people know that he is a homosexual.
"That's the quintessential difference, is to first struggle with it and then to know that that's the least of who you are. That's a portion that's actually technically private, but because we live in such a repressed society -- particularly in the African American church and congregation -- those type of topics seem to keep surfacing," Tonex said.
Tonex says he felt shunned from his peers--separated and alone.
"I just felt discriminated against. I felt like I was in the 60s or something. I couldn't drink out the white water fountain. I am the same guy and they're the same people," Tonex said.
The backlash was not just facing the criticism within the Christian and Gospel community. For Tonex--it seemed--like his busy schedule suddenly stopped.
"Well recently I was booked to perform on Sunday's Best season-three and the day of the event, I get a call and they mysteriously no longer need my services after the network had already approved it. So that let me know it's not that I am going to stop singing gospel, but that I am going to present the gospel on my own terms," Tonex said.
BET responded to Tonex's claim by saying "the show was over-booked which resulted in the cancellation of Tonex's performance."
Despite the controversy, Tonex's story has become an inspiration.
"By him coming out it kind of sets the tone for other people to follow the lead. It gives me that hope that I can still be successful, you know, within the mainstream society and I can still be who I am," Keisha Brown, a church parishioner.
These days, when he is not singing for his fans as Tonex, Pastor Williams travels across the country preaching a message of acceptance.
Now his audience is a congregation and his stage a pulpit.
Director Matthew Wilder is so excited about this in a probably unintentionally undermine-y way. He said its likely one of the most challenging roles any actor could play - and not because of the sexual content, necessarily - but more because she was so battered and beat up emotionally, that I think it's gonna take everything Lindsay has to really be able to pull it off ... Not that Lindsay's life is similar in any way - but she's been through a lot of ups and downs. A lot of times you're loved and then you're hated, and I think she can relate to those emotions and feelings.
The announcement comes on the heels of Lohans forced departure from The Other Side - allegedly the studio felt the Chapter 27 (?) actress was not bankable enough. Keep in mind that movie is about an over-achieving science scholar as she solves a bizarre mystery involving the wacky eccentric residents of a remote island where she ultimately discovers unforeseen personal ties to its history and stars Dave Matthews and Alanis Morissette, so.

South Africas Heat magazine is claiming that Rihanna and her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown have been in telephone contact since his emotional performance at the BET Awards.
The two had reportedly not been in touch since Brown was sentenced to 180 days of community labour and five years of probation for beating her in February 2009.
An unnamed source told Heat: Its been almost a year since they last spoke, but Rihanna felt like she could try to be friends with Chris again. Seeing how emotional he was on set [at the BET Awards] really touched her.
Shed never seen him like that before.
The source added: Chris told her that he felt like hes grown up in the past year.
Hes said hes so happy to be back in touch with her. They were each others first love and hes missed her so much. Rihanna knows that if she wanted him back, hed be there in a second.
The pair have reportedly text messaged one another since their telephone conversation, with a friend of Rihannas suggesting that shes hoping for a face-to-face meeting.
But under the terms of his August 2009 probation, Brown must stay at least 100 yards away from RiRi for five years.
WASHINGTON The United States has discovered nearly $1 trillion in untapped mineral deposits in Afghanistan, far beyond any previously known reserves and enough to fundamentally alter the Afghan economy and perhaps the Afghan war itself, according to senior American government officials.
The previously unknown deposits including huge veins of iron, copper, cobalt, gold and critical industrial metals like lithium are so big and include so many minerals that are essential to modern industry that Afghanistan could eventually be transformed into one of the most important mining centers in the world, the United States officials believe.
An internal Pentagon memo, for example, states that Afghanistan could become the Saudi Arabia of lithium, a key raw material in the manufacture of batteries for laptops and BlackBerrys.
The vast scale of Afghanistans mineral wealth was discovered by a small team of Pentagon officials and American geologists. The Afghan government and President Hamid Karzai were recently briefed, American officials said.
While it could take many years to develop a mining industry, the potential is so great that officials and executives in the industry believe it could attract heavy investment even before mines are profitable, providing the possibility of jobs that could distract from generations of war.
There is stunning potential here, Gen. David H. Petraeus, commander of the United States Central Command, said in an interview on Saturday. There are a lot of ifs, of course, but I think potentially it is hugely significant.
The value of the newly discovered mineral deposits dwarfs the size of Afghanistans existing war-bedraggled economy, which is based largely on opium production and narcotics trafficking as well as aid from the United States and other industrialized countries. Afghanistans gross domestic product is only about $12 billion.
This will become the backbone of the Afghan economy, said Jalil Jumriany, an adviser to the Afghan minister of mines.
American and Afghan officials agreed to discuss the mineral discoveries at a difficult moment in the war in Afghanistan. The American-led offensive in Marja in southern Afghanistan has achieved only limited gains. Meanwhile, charges of corruption and favoritism continue to plague the Karzai government, and Mr. Karzai seems increasingly embittered toward the White House.
So the Obama administration is hungry for some positive news to come out of Afghanistan. Yet the American officials also recognize that the mineral discoveries will almost certainly have a double-edged impact.
Instead of bringing peace, the newfound mineral wealth could lead the Taliban to battle even more fiercely to regain control of the country.
The corruption that is already rampant in the Karzai government could also be amplified by the new wealth, particularly if a handful of well-connected oligarchs, some with personal ties to the president, gain control of the resources. Just last year, Afghanistans minister of mines was accused by American officials of accepting a $30 million bribe to award China the rights to develop its copper mine. The minister has since been replaced.
Endless fights could erupt between the central government in Kabul and provincial and tribal leaders in mineral-rich districts. Afghanistan has a national mining law, written with the help of advisers from the World Bank, but it has never faced a serious challenge.
No one has tested that law; no one knows how it will stand up in a fight between the central government and the provinces, observed Paul A. Brinkley, deputy undersecretary of defense for business and leader of the Pentagon team that discovered the deposits.
At the same time, American officials fear resource-hungry China will try to dominate the development of Afghanistans mineral wealth, which could upset the United States, given its heavy investment in the region. After winning the bid for its Aynak copper mine in Logar Province, China clearly wants more, American officials said.
Another complication is that because Afghanistan has never had much heavy industry before, it has little or no history of environmental protection either. The big question is, can this be developed in a responsible way, in a way that is environmentally and socially responsible? Mr. Brinkley said. No one knows how this will work.
With virtually no mining industry or infrastructure in place today, it will take decades for Afghanistan to exploit its mineral wealth fully. This is a country that has no mining culture, said Jack Medlin, a geologist in the United States Geological Surveys international affairs program. Theyve had some small artisanal mines, but now there could be some very, very large mines that will require more than just a gold pan.
The mineral deposits are scattered throughout the country, including in the southern and eastern regions along the border with Pakistan that have had some of the most intense combat in the American-led war against the Taliban insurgency. The Pentagon task force has already started trying to help the Afghans set up a system to deal with mineral development. International accounting firms that have expertise in mining contracts have been hired to consult with the Afghan Ministry of Mines, and technical data is being prepared to turn over to multinational mining companies and other potential foreign investors. The Pentagon is helping Afghan officials arrange to start seeking bids on mineral rights by next fall, officials said.
The Ministry of Mines is not ready to handle this, Mr. Brinkley said. We are trying to help them get ready.
Like much of the recent history of the country, the story of the discovery of Afghanistans mineral wealth is one of missed opportunities and the distractions of war.
In 2004, American geologists, sent to Afghanistan as part of a broader reconstruction effort, stumbled across an intriguing series of old charts and data at the library of the Afghan Geological Survey in Kabul that hinted at major mineral deposits in the country. They soon learned that the data had been collected by Soviet mining experts during the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan in the 1980s, but cast aside when the Soviets withdrew in 1989.
During the chaos of the 1990s, when Afghanistan was mired in civil war and later ruled by the Taliban, a small group of Afghan geologists protected the charts by taking them home, and returned them to the Geological Surveys library only after the American invasion and the ouster of the Taliban in 2001.
There were maps, but the development did not take place, because you had 30 to 35 years of war, said Ahmad Hujabre, an Afghan engineer who worked for the Ministry of Mines in the 1970s.
Armed with the old Russian charts, the United States Geological Survey began a series of aerial surveys of Afghanistans mineral resources in 2006, using advanced gravity and magnetic measuring equipment attached to an old Navy Orion P-3 aircraft that flew over about 70 percent of the country.
The data from those flights was so promising that in 2007, the geologists returned for an even more sophisticated study, using an old British bomber equipped with instruments that offered a three-dimensional profile of mineral deposits below the earths surface. It was the most comprehensive geologic survey of Afghanistan ever conducted.
The handful of American geologists who pored over the new data said the results were astonishing.
But the results gathered dust for two more years, ignored by officials in both the American and Afghan governments. In 2009, a Pentagon task force that had created business development programs in Iraq was transferred to Afghanistan, and came upon the geological data. Until then, no one besides the geologists had bothered to look at the information and no one had sought to translate the technical data to measure the potential economic value of the mineral deposits.
Soon, the Pentagon business development task force brought in teams of American mining experts to validate the surveys findings, and then briefed Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates and Mr. Karzai.
So far, the biggest mineral deposits discovered are of iron and copper, and the quantities are large enough to make Afghanistan a major world producer of both, United States officials said. Other finds include large deposits of niobium, a soft metal used in producing superconducting steel, rare earth elements and large gold deposits in Pashtun areas of southern Afghanistan.
Just this month, American geologists working with the Pentagon team have been conducting ground surveys on dry salt lakes in western Afghanistan where they believe there are large deposits of lithium. Pentagon officials said that their initial analysis at one location in Ghazni Province showed the potential for lithium deposits as large of those of Bolivia, which now has the worlds largest known lithium reserves.
For the geologists who are now scouring some of the most remote stretches of Afghanistan to complete the technical studies necessary before the international bidding process is begun, there is a growing sense that they are in the midst of one of the great discoveries of their careers.
On the ground, its very, very, promising, Mr. Medlin said. Actually, its pretty amazing.
Police on Friday thwarted another major player in the illegal drug trafficking network, when they seized almost 1,000 pounds of marijuana at Port Bustamante in Kingston.
The drug was found in a container at the port by detectives from the Trans-National Crime and Narcotics Division (TCND).
According to the police, the shipment was en route from Spain to Costa Rica, when the TCND detectives became suspicious after the storage protocol was breached. The shipment was inspected and 36 bales of the narcotics, which weighed 978 pounds, were found.
The detectives, who are continuing their investigations, have theorised that the contraband was placed in the container after it arrived in Jamaica.
Last month, in another major drug bust, the police seized 11,592 pounds of compressed ganja at a factory at 2B Ken Hill Drive, Pembroke Hall, Kingston 20.
The drug was found in a storeroom by TCND detectives during a police operation on June 24, between 9:00 pm and 12:00 am. The police said that the drug was being prepared for export.
Seven males were arrested in connection with the seizure and were last week taken before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court. Five of them were offered bail in the sum of $500,000 each, while the other two were denied bail.
Those offered bail were Oneil Seabourne, Nigel Seabourne, Mark Dobney, Michael Rodney and Errol Tyrell, all of Red Hills addresses in St Andrew.
They are charged for possession of, dealing in, taking steps to export ganja and conspiracy to export ganja.
Leopold Bromley, owner of the premises and Donald Davis were both denied bail. They are facing similar charges in addition to a charge for using the premises for storage of ganja.
ONE of Britain's most traditional shoe brands has become a massive hit in Jamaica - thanks to a reggae RAPPER.
Clarks shoes are now must-have items on the Caribbean island with prices soaring, shops selling out and thieves targeting them.
Local music star Vybz Kartel released a single called Clarks earlier this year, with the cover carrying pictures of his favourite styles - Wallabees, Desert Boots and Desert Treks.
The rap features the catchy chorus line: "Everybody haffi ask weh mi get mi Clarks".
And it even has lyrics about the QUEEN wearing them.
He has since released follow-up singles titled Clarks Again and Clarks 3 (Wear Weh Yuh Have).
Clarks - a 185-year-old family-run company from Street, Somerset - were set to shut their main factory in 1996 with the loss of 400 jobs when sales almost dried up.
But they enjoyed a huge boom the following year when Oasis superstars Liam and Noel Gallagher started a trend for their Desert Boots.
Thousands of indie fans followed in their footsteps and stars including The Beastie Boys, Patsy Kensit, The Spice Girls, Paul Weller and Jarvis c**ker also sported the shoes.
Kartel, 34 - real name Adijah Palmer - said Clarks are deeply ingrained in Jamaican culture and he himself owns more than 50 pairs.
He said: "Clarks is as much a part of the Jamaican culture as ackee and saltfish and roast breadfruit, I swear to you.
"Policemen wear it, gangsters wear it. Big men wear it to their work. Schoolchildren wear it to school.
"I personally have more than 50 pair of Clarks. I have more than there are states in America."
Michael Borge, marketing director for Clarks in North America, confirmed the company has seen increased demand in Jamaica in recent months.
The popularity of Clarks is also rising in Britain as Kartel's song is regularly played on black music station BBC 1Xtra by DJ Robbo Ranx.

The man who was featured in a short video clip caressing the nipples of a popular businessman has now submitted an extended version of their intimate moment to THE STAR.
The latest video, which is 23 minutes long, also shows the businessman getting a massage from his male friend and receiving light kisses on his neck and cheeks. The video shows the businessman laughing with every kiss he received and in one instance, he beckoned to the other man and told him to come and rub his nipples. During the massage and kisses, the men engaged in normal conversation, talking about their friends, family members and current affairs. At the start of the video, when the massage just began, the businessman asked the other man to use lotion. The other man in the video is also seen checking the door to the room, to ensure that it was closed.
THE STAR yesterday published an article under the headline 'Businessman Taped In Homo Act', which described in detail the men's action in the abbreviated clip.
However, following the publication of the article, THE STAR was contacted by the businessman, who is well known in uptown circles.
He denied being gay and said the video was amended and released by a vindictive individual who was seeking to tarnish his name. It was an innocent video, he said, that had turned into an ugly situation.
The businessman said he and the other man in the video have known each other for about three years. He said when the man was in a dark time of his life, he stood by his side, and added that he recently offered him a job. He said, however, that after certain allegations were made about the man, he fired him and refused to re-hire him. This decision, he said, was the root of the anger which caused the video to be doctored and released. He said: "He got angry and concocted and edited the video and put it out that night and it has been a nightmare ever since."
He added, "I am not a homosexual. That video was absolutely edited. He took a perfectly innocent situation and made it into an ugly situation. It has caused my family - and my girlfriend in particular - a lot of stress."
When contacted by THE STAR, the other man, however, alleged that he was drugged by the businessman. He denied that the images had been doctored. He said: "I'm pretty sure you're smart enough to know that's not true, nothing is edited, probably cut out, but not edited." When asked about his sexual orientation he said, "Let's just say I am cool with everybody. I have a girlfriend, a fiancée," he said.
He then went on to send the extended version of the tape to THE STAR which, he said, would show what exactly took place.
He accused the businessman of being a homosexual before claiming that he was given two pills which altered his consciousness. In the video he submitted, however, he appears fully conscious and in control of his faculties.
Since the release of the clip last week, the video has been making the rounds on the Internet and has been the source of plenty discussion.
OMAHA, Neb. (AP) --State Sen. Ernie Chambers says his lawsuit against God might seem funny but that doesn't mean it doesn't have a serious point.
Chambers asked Douglas County District Judge Marlon Polk on Tuesday to let his lawsuit proceed. Chambers said he wants to make the point that everyone should have access to the courts regardless of whether they are poor or have the means of billionaire Warren Buffett of Omaha.
"What brought me to the point of filing this lawsuit was the ill-advised attempts by certain legislators to prevent the filing of certain lawsuits," Chambers said.
Polk said he would consider the issue and rule later.
Chambers acknowledges using wit and humor in the lawsuit he filed last September seeking a permanent injunction against God. Chambers said God has made terroristic threats against the senator and his constituents in Omaha, inspired fear and caused "widespread death, destruction and terrorization of millions upon millions of the Earth's inhabitants."
The court told Chambers last week that his lawsuit may be dismissed because he had failed to serve notice on God. Chambers acknowledged that failure in court Tuesday while sitting a few feet away from an empty table reserved for God and God's attorney.
"Despite my most sincere, zealous efforts, I could not find a location to serve the defendant," Chambers said.
But Chambers asked Polk to take official notice of God, and the Almighty's omniscience and omnipresence.
Chambers argued that courts and the U.S. government already routinely take notice of God. Courts swear in witnesses with an oath that includes the phrase "so help me God." Plus, the pledge of allegiance describes "one nation, under God," and U.S. currency proclaims "In God We Trust."
And the senator said that if the court recognizes God, the deity wouldn't need formal notice of the lawsuit because he knows everything. And God would be at every hearing because he's everywhere always.
A senator for 38 years, Chambers skips morning prayers during the legislative session and often criticizes Christians. He is being pushed out of the Legislature by term limits.
Chambers said he appreciates the difficult position Judge Polk is in because of the unique nature of the case, but he hopes the lawsuit will be allowed to proceed.
"Your honor, I do not envy your position," Chambers said.
Sources familiar with the police report tell us ... the alleged victim claims White allegedly punched her in one of her breast implants while they were driving on Pacific Coast Highway two weeks ago, with an infant in the car.
We're told, she claims when they got home White allegedly slapped her, and pushed her into a toilet so hard it broke the tank.
Sources connected with White's baby mama, Bridget Hardy, tell TMZ Hardy is in fact the alleged victim. We're told she did not report any injuries.
The alleged victim filed a report with the LAPD Tuesday. The investigation is ongoing.

The rep continues, "This is just a ploy in an ongoing custody battle over their young daughter to tarnish his name.
MICROSOFTS billionaire Bill Gates recently gave a speech at an American high school at which he spoke about how feel-good, politically correct teachings created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept set them up for failure in the real world.
He gave 11 things the students did not and would not learn in school:
Rule 1: Life is not fair get used to it!
Rule 2: The world doesnt care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.
Rule 3: You will NOT make US$60,000 a year right out of high school. You wont be a vicepresident with a car phone until you earn both.
Rule 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss.
Rule 5: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your grandparents had a different word for burger flipping: they called it opportunity.
Rule 6: If you mess up, its not your parents fault, so dont whine about your mistakes, learn from them.
Rule 7: Before you were born, your parents werent as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So before you save the rainforest from the parasites of your parents generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.
Rule 8: Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and theyll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer. This doesnt bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.
Rule 9: Life is not divided into semesters. You dont get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do that on your own time.
Rule 10: Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs. Rule 11: Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.
If you agree, pass it on. If you can read this Thank a teacher! If you can read this in English thank a soldier!!!
And I'll add #12 Remember when you demand a high salary consider how much you should pay your boss for actually teaching you the job.

International pop group p**sycat Dollshave ''fully disbanded'' and will not return in their best known line-up, according to former member, Kimberley Wyatt.
The girl group's future has been in doubt since they went on a break last year, but Kimberley said if the group, which is masterminded by behind-the-scenes choreographer Robin Antin, does return it will feature a dramatically different line-up.
Three members of the group - Jessica Sutta, Kimberly Wyatt, and Ashley Roberts - have quit, leaving main vocalist Nicole Scherzinger and Melody Thornton as possible members of a new line up.
Robin has said the group will return this year, but given no details as to who it will include.
The p**sycat Dolls were made famous in 2005 with their first album PCD which debuted at number five in the US producing three successful singles Don't Cha, Buttons, and Stickwitu.
The faux fervor surrounding the World Cup in America is annoying as a chorus of soccer kazoos. Whats that you say? Theyre called vuvuzelas? I dont care. I'm just glad that awful sound will give way to the sounds of real football a cacophony of crunching pads, barked audibles and man grunts as we finally turn our attention to NFL training camps opening in less than two weeks.
That said, Ill fully admit as someone who spent several years in shin guards that Im not your average soccer detractor. Let the world have its beloved sport of finesse, low scores and goal-induced coronaries. But hear this: No self-respecting American sports fan truly loves the World Cup. And soccer will always take a backseat a way backseat to American football.
Americans love the World Cup the same way we suddenly enjoy Betty White, are again wearing flannel and hearing Snoop Dogg on the radio. All of these sporadically capture the collective consciousness and wiggle their way back into pop culture. But lets face it theyre only consistently appreciated by a select few when the mainstream has taken note of shinier objects.
If the first organized sport you played growing up America wasnt tee-ball, it was probably soccer. At age 4 or 5, the game more closely resembles a pack of mice trapped in a pinball machine. Highlights of a youth soccer game are always food-related orange slices at halftime, ice cream or pizza post-game.
As we grow older, passing and spacing are introduced, and it begins to resemble a sport. Some of us, this author included, go on to play soccer on a club team that forces your parents to spend their weekends schlepping you from one end of the Chicago suburbs to the other.
There is, perhaps, no better sport for growing children to play than soccer. It requires them to spend their energy constantly running, jumping and kicking while separating the coordinated kids from the ones who like to pick dandelions.
Some time in middle school, all soccer-related actives end, as they absolutely should. Because soccer in this country is nothing more than solid preparation for sports that require crotch protection.
Sure, there are a few guys in high school who take time out from being the guy at parties who breaks out the guitar and butchers something from Led Zeppelin IV long enough to comprise the schools soccer team. And granted, these gentlemen have their following.
However, the prototype for the classic American high school couple will never be the head cheerleader and the striker or the sweeper or the midfielder or the goalie.
The early teens are when the guys with guts drown themselves in plastic pads and courage so they can run full speed into one another.
American football, for all its intricate rules, its oblong ball and various formations and coverages, is amazingly simple. There is nothing beautiful about this game. Its dudes running into dudes to determine who can push harder. But success is so appreciated on the football field that its rewarded with six well-earned points.
Ive heard the argument that theres little actual playing when it comes to football, what with all the huddles and the play clock. But Id rather watch a thousand replays of unsuccessful first-and-10 runs up the gut than a soccer team dropping back to hang on for 45 minutes to a 1-0 lead. Wheres the beauty in that?
And the fans oh, the fans.
Soccer gives otherwise reasonable individuals far too many opportunities to become intolerable every four years. They could very well rename the World Cup to Which One Of My Friends Is A Pretentious Ass?
These are the friends who correct you when you refer to the playing area as the field instead of the pitch. They scoff when you suggest that stoppage time is an inexact science and a somewhat ridiculous notion. And God help you if you find yourself in a dont-call-it-soccer conversation.
Worst of all, theyll try to convince you that diving the charming action of pretending to be fouled and faking a resulting injury is part of the game. Thats not part of any game. Thats bad community theater.
I simply cant muster respect for a player who is praised for his ability to feign injury. You know what happens if you take a dive in American football? Neither do I, because it never happens.
Perhaps the best way to illustrate why America will never be a soccer sanctuary is to examine the fate of the two top players on my under-14 club soccer team.
One went on to play defensive end for a Division I college football program. His pro career ended when he got one too many concussions and a doctor advised him to hang up the pads.
The other went on to play professional baseball until he ripped his shoulder to shreds in the minors to the point where he can no longer give a high-five with his right arm.
Does either regret their choice not to stick with soccer?
Not even once every four years.
GLK's Yesterday Best of the '90s isn't only about the superb free-drink mixes they've promised, but it's also about the great music, which will be provided by some of Kingston's hottest disc jocks. Among them is ZJ Ice.
"The event has a lot of great themes surrounding it. For one, it's a school-uniform-theme party, and when you enter, all the drinks are on the house. Those two things alone are a great way to spend the Saturday night. Then to top things off, we are gonna be having some of the maddest mixing. It's all about nuff vibes, and I wanna see the ladies sweat, and later on, cool down with some ice, from the drinks, of course," said ZJ Ice, laughing.
The promoters of the event, which will be staged this Saturday night at Mas Camp in New Kingston, will give a computer to the high school most represented at the oldies party.
Also on ZJ Ice's line-up this weekend is Appleton May Daze, which will be staged at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre on Friday night. ZJ Ice, whose correct name is Jason Carr, says, "If people want to kick-start the weekend wid crazy vibes, that's one of the first places to be and party with myself and the other May Daze selectors and patrons."Teenage pop star Justin Bieber is happy to date older ladies, as long as they are not over the age of 40.
The 16-year-old singer admits an age gap in a relationship wouldn't bother him, and he would be willing to romance women who are up to 20 years older than he is.
He says that anyone 40 is a little too old for me. I just look for a girl who is funny and has nice eyes and a smile.
He also says that socialite Kim Kardashian is currently top of his list - at the age of 29, she fits his criteria.
Kim KardashianIt has now been nearly a year since pop icon Michael Jackson has passed away, but that isn't going to stop someone from coming out and revealing that towards the end of Jackson's life, he had an intimate gay relationship with a man named Jason Pfeiffer.
The story was broke to the tabloid Extra. Jackson - who's sexual orientation has often been in question - was obviously a private person personally with his children and his short-lived marriages, but was often in the media spotlight prior to his death in late June 2009.
His alleged relationship with Pfeiffer, his-then assistant to his dermatologist, began in 2008 when the two allegedly met in his fathers dermatology office. Pfeiffer told Extra that the relationship was both "passionate and sexual."
"We were just sitting there and we both started to cry and I got up and went over to him and said its going to be OK Michael," Pfeiffer revealed to the tabloid. "We hugged, and it was kind of then that the hug was a little bit more.
It wasn't until a few months later that it was obvious that Michael had feelings for me as well. I just assumed that he was probably bisexual. I know we loved each other, I know he told me that all the time. I believe that he was probably my soul mate."
The relationship has been confirmed by Pefifers father Dr. Arnold Klein. He even claims that he saw both of them together at one point. "When you see two people looking at each other you know what's happening. I was just very happy for both of them," the doctor said.
Pfeiffer has a dozens of voicemails that Jackson left him. He admits that the reason he came out with the story nearly a year after his death because he wanted to "set the record straight."

Dancehall artiste, Munga Honorebel screamed into the mic as if it were Babylon or his lover at Village Blues Bar in Kingston two Tuesdays ago but the outcome was absolute clarity.
The performance demonstrated that he was still active and that he didn't need voice altering devices to make the crowd howl. From his falsetto screams to his death metal groans the audience heard vocal power and dancehall clarity. His voice belted above the crashing drums and dancehall melodies of the RPM Band as he performed tunes of love, gangsterism and loss.
"Bet you never know me could have perform like this with a live band," he announced.
The self proclaimed 'gangsta ras' hopped from stage into the crowd and back in a sort of dance delivery. He wore white shirt, jeans and a bag pocket rag.
Munga gained popularity since Bad Like I in 2005 which led to other songs including Flippin Rhymez, Earthquake and Bad From me Born.
His contribution to the dancehall conversation also involved his usage of technology via Auto-Tunes music editing software which robotised his voice on many of his tracks. Also Munga was criticised in adopting the moniker 'gangsta ras which linked Rastafarianism with gangsterism. He defended that moniker on Tuesday stating that his usage of gangster was a tool to fight Babylon. Also in his performance he explained why his popularity had waned over the past few years.
"People ask where was Munga I was caring for my son and daughter," he told the crowd.
The night ended after two in the morning despite Kingston being under a state of Emergency. Rock band Downstairs preceded Munga's performance. The weekly Tuesday event is put on by RPM Promotions which is the partnership between poet Italee Watson and media promoter Carrie 'Quizz' Sigurdson. They event mixes rising and established acts.
