The World Series of Poker is one of the most exciting events for gamers from around the world. The 1991 WSOP event came after a dramatic finish to the 1990 event where an Iranian Welshman became the very first non-American to take home the main event. In 1991, players around the world braced themselves for a new era of Poker. This was the first time that the winner of the main event would take home a million dollars, and also the first time in history that there would be over 200 contestants vying for the prize.
In this year of the event there would be a few key players, but none as motivated as Brad Daugherty. He had been driven ever since he heard about the 1977 WSOP event where Doyle Bronson came away with a victory. He had moved from his hometown to Reno, Nevada, in order to get a job as a dealer at a casino. His dream was to play poker professionally and move into some big name tournaments. In 1991 he finally got his chance when Huck Seed would back him with a 40% stake in his winnings.
After some incredibly grueling play, Brad found himself moving deeper into the tournament until there were only six people left. He finally made it to the final table or the "T.V." table, with some confidence and some motivation to take it all home. He had one of the smaller stacks at the table but didn't let it deter him at all.
Daugherty looked down at his AK an realized that he needed either a KK or AA on order to win the hand. He moved in anyway and Perry Green decided to move in with 88. The chip leader at the time was Robert Veltri, but didn't necessarily show strength with the raise he put in and the other players recognized that.
Veltri, had a bigger hand than previously thought and ending up trumping Green. The next card that came on the table was an ace and Daugherty was able to triple up. The fourth player that was still on the table was able to be taken care of by Don Holt. The next major move was that Veltri got a top pair but it was topped by Daugherty's nut straight.
After that it was just Holt and Daugherty left and Holt decided to bluff, albeit at the wrong time. Holt went all in and was bold in his decision. Daugherty held KJ at the time and had a top pair with a kicker. After Holt made his move, Daugherty called it and then Holt was in a bit of a mess. The turn and river didn't bring anything for Holt and Daugherty realized that he had just won the World Series of Poker, which had been a lifelong dream. 15 years earlier he had gotten the idea from Doyle Brunson and now he had accomplished it himself. He got the gold bracelet and won the million dollar pot among the 215 entrants that had competed for it.

Some Articles To Read:
William Golding's The Lord Of The Flies. I'm sure most of us are familiar with this famous novel written by a great English novelist and Nobel laureate ,William Golding. It tells about a group of British schoolboys stuck on a desolated island who try to manage themselves, with disastrous outcome. It was published in 1954, and this was William Golding's first novel. it become a bestseller although the time it was released in the United States in 1955 was not a great success. Fewer than 3,000 copies only was sold. It was adapted to film in 1963 by Peter Brook, and again in 1990 by Harry Hook. Many schools and colleges required their students reading this novel in early 1960s.
Here are some more infos about this novel I found on the internet:
The book subtly indicates that it takes place in the midst of an unspecified nuclear war, perhaps implicitly relating the savagery of the children characters to the warfare of adults. Some of the marooned characters are ordinary students, while others arrive as a musical choir under an established leader. Most (with the exception of the choirboys) appear never to have encountered each other before. The book portrays their descent into savagery; left to themselves in a paradisaical country, far from modern civilization, the well-educated children regress to a primitive state:
At an allegorical level, the central theme is the conflicting impulses toward civilization-live by rules, peacefully and in harmony-and towards the will to power. Different subjects include the tension between groupthink and individuality, between rational and emotional reactions, and between morality and immorality. How these play out, and how different people feel the influences of these, form a major subtext of Lord of the Flies.

16.Doesn't matter if you haven't read the Narnia Chronicles by CS Lewis. Doesn't matter if you haven't seen the earlier sequels too. The third part in the fantasy series holds merit on its own and manages to hold you in your seat with its mix of make-believe, special effects and fairy tale folklore.
The fact that the film is in 3D makes it even more inviting for the sword fights, the dragon fires and the choppy sea hits you in your face as you try to keep pace with the Pevensies in their traditional battle of good against evil.
Adding fire to their heroics is their whiny, almost offensive cousin Eustace, who grows into an unlikely hero as the danger threatens. His unusual friendship with braveheart Reepicheep is extremely enticing. Of course, we would have loved to have more of the majestic Aslan and the mean White Witch, specially since the brother-sister duo are growing up fast and may not have access to magical, mystical Narnia for long. But we aren't complaining. Specially since there's so little of make-believe left in this mundane world.
I would suspect from a movie marketing standpoint this is a nightmare to have to remind people who aren't familiar with the series that "Hey! This is Narnia again!" And I suspect that's why we keep seeing the White Witch, Peter, and Susan popping up on The Voyage of the Dawn Treader ads.
Unfortunately, in his pursuit of even-handedness, O'Sullivan fails to create more than a few worthwhile characters. The atmosphere, thick with claustrophobia, paranoia, and a pervasive sense of impending doom, is potent in a way that the protagonists aren't. Most of the men in Nothing Personal represent different faces of unintelligent bigotry. There's Ginger (Ian Hart), a borderline psycho who enjoys killing Catholics; Kenny (James Frain), the leader of a militant anti-IRA group; Eddie (Gary Lydon), Kenny's right-hand man; Tommy (Ruaidhri Conroy), a 17-year old recruit to the cause; and Leonard (Michael Gambon), Kenny's politically- savvy commander. None of these individuals are nearly as interesting as their cause. The characters who capture our attention are those without a strong political allegiance: Liam (John Lynch), a Catholic who is mistaken for an IRA member; Ann (Maria Doyle Kennedy), Kenny's estranged wife; and Kathleen (Jeni Courtney), Liam's young, headstrong daughter.
While Nothing Personal might have been more focused had it concentrated on fewer individuals, O'Sullivan elected to try to cram in everyone's story. As a result, the motion picture is frequently confusing (occasionally bordering on chaotic), and Liam, who represents the emotional center, is only on-screen for about a third of the running time. And, while there is power in the way Nothing Personal is resolved, there's also something about the ending that seems inevitable, obligatory, and more than a little manipulative.
17.After a very exciting heads up, Jonathan Duhamel main event of the World Series of Poker winner. He defeated John Racener and it has assured itself of the top prize of eight million U.S. dollars. He also won the coveted gold bracelet. From the beginning of the finalatafel he was chip leader and he\'s chip lead briefly but lost.

Besides coming to the final table of the Main Event with the chip lead, Duhamel might be best remembered for his knockout of Matt "mcmatto" Affleck. On a board of 10-9-7-Q, Duhamel called Affleck's all-in with pocket jacks. Affleck flipped up aces and Duhamel suddenly found himself down to 10 outs on the river. Sure enough, an eight hit the board, filling Duhamel's straight and sending shockwaves through the Amazon Room. The pot was worth a healthy 42 million chips, or 20% of the total in play.
In a $1,500 No Limit Hold'em Six-Max event, the former college finance major finished in 50th and collected nearly $6,000. In a key hand during Day 7 that fueled his Main Event run, Duhamel moved all-in on a board reading 6-3-6-8-2. He received a call from online poker stud Matt "berkey11" Berkey, who flipped up 6-10 for trips. However, Duhamel had him crushed and showed pocket eights for a boat. The double up took Duhamel to 7.9 million in chips.
Duhamel's best poker work came not in the United States, but in Europe on the European Poker Tour (EPT), where he bubbled the final table of a 5,000 No Limit Hold'em tournament in Prague and banked nearly $55,000.
